All of the producers who took part this month!
Thank you all for the excellent music.
The battle was seriously difficult to judge this month.
Thanks:

[Mod of the Hollywood Movies Forum]
For being our Guest Judge this month.
Thank you for your musical insight and for your time!
JUDGE MICROJUBEI :
BoodahBlaze -
good effort, Seems like more of an Intro to an album,
than an actual track to flo over.
CHEW MY GRITS -
this is another track that I can really see an MC talking over.
More of an introduction than an actual track to flo over.
It would make for a nice freestyle track,
but would need to be shaved to 16 bars.
Nice use of the sample, but the track seems too "skinny" for an LP,
needs more to it to "fatten" it up.
Dannyblueyes -
I really liked this one, great use of the sample,
sounds great in the car or on a nice home sound system.
I can almost hear a "1995" Ol' dirty Bastard, flo over this with a vengence.
Unlike most "unsigned" beat projects, this one sounds very professional,
and is a "ready to ship" beat.
The thing that will hurt this track I can ONLY hear ODB flo on it,
As if it were cratfed for him only. I really cant hear another MC on this.
The beat can be adjusted for a wider MC style, but that may hurt the quality of the track. If ODB was alive, he would be calling for this track ASAP
eemrsin -
I liked the quality of this track, good use of the sample, I can see an
MC wanting 2 tracks from this one beat.
The first 7 seconds before the beat stutters out, is priceless.
I would love to hear NAS, or AZ flo over that part of the track
I would remake the track with seconds 7-19 as my start,
with the meat of the track those first 7 seconds.
TheGambino -
Very twisty track, the piano is very busy being the focal point of the track. I can see a Busta, Pharrell or TRIBE using this as an Intro to an LP or mixtape. Maybe if there was a way you can "quiet" the piano it would be
more "flo-friendly".
hendu -
WOW - WOW. Superb use of sample, great production value....
I cant pin-point wich MC i would like to hear on this track,
but damn, what a track. THIS IS A "READY TO SHIP" track in my opinion - great merger of 1995 with 2008.
If i was an MC, I would be knockin at your door for this track--
even if i couldn't use it, I wouldn't want my competition to use it.
This is one of the few tracks I could ride around the city listening to.
Its gutter at points, its flashy at other points, its what kats like me have
been waiting to hear - FIND A GREAT MC, AND SHOP THIS AROUND KID
JAY -
I wish you could have taken out the MC on this one.
Its sounds nice, with a great use of the sample, but the MC forces
me to see the track a certain way. I wish I had time to request this
one MC free.
kboogie2323 -
Is Nas gonna flo over this? VERY, VERY good use of the sample,
clever production. Some sounds could have been left out,
but that may make track appear "naked" or "skinny".
Around the 1:30 to 1:45 is a good example of "skinny",
but over all very solid track.
Kingphred -
I was wondering if I would hear something that made me felt like this
track was not for flo-ing over, and this is it.
Nice sample use, but more importantly, I see this track on a MOVIE SCORE. I almost could see the credits playing as the audience got an air-plane view of the hood in cold weather, kids playing double dutch or "tag you're it" in big jackets, homeless ppl drinking and joking with
a fire burning in a trash can.....I can go on, but you may want to look into
that path with you music. THIS TRACK MAKES ME SEE NOT HEAR.
Lebeef -
CUT THE FIRST 35 seconds and you've got a truly great track.
I see you had Nas on the track, yet I see JAY-Z all over this one
very KANYE in approach. VERY VERY GOOD SAMPLE USE, but the
first 35 seconds may make ppl not continue past, and its a shame,
because after that it goes from dorm-room producer, to experienced beat-maker. Kill those first 35, KID. VERY SOLID, VERY TIGHT...
but those damn first 35.
mr_mantel_216 -
get_that_galt (http://www.zshare.net/audio/77171078927445/)
sample reviewed.
Very sinister in tone - maybe a DMX or a JA-RULE (when he was still cool). Nice sample use, but I feel more of the Producer than the sample.
VERY 1995, Mobb Deep (when they were still cool) would rip this one to shreds......good track, but not just anyone(nowadays) could flo over it.
This track could also go on the GOLDENEYE(n64) remake as the trak
played for the boss battle, very Cold beat, look outside of the box
for your music, look to movie and video games for a place to call home!
mufasa672 -
(http://www.zshare.net/audio/8016205ee0670e/) sample reviewed
As the case with Jay, i wish the MC's werent on this, good sample use,
but the Mc's force the track a certain way.
puertorock -
Good sample use - I WISH THE WHOLE TRACK WAS from 3:20 to 3:50 that was super-on-point, very aggresive feeling from a non-aggresive sample.
Really didnt like the "drowning' effect throughtout the track
(except for 3:20-3:50) - Props on trying something different,
but it just flew Over my head. 3:20 to 3:50 was my kind of sound this should have been the "meat" of this beat sandwich
Slim Cutty -
VERY PRO - ON-POINT sample use, another track I feel is "READY TO SHIP". One of a few tracks I could listen to without the MC on top.
Very open for any MC of any coast or region to flo on.
Thumbs up on the verbal sample of pimps and ho's
again VERY PROFESSIONAL, "READY TO SHIP" today.
Very Very NICE-only one point of concern; the great verbal sample (pimps/ho's) will confine an MC's subject matter,
but on the plus side it will most likely force the MC to story rap which is mostly absent from todays rap music.
(hopefully the MC who uses this track CAN story rap)
SMARTMONEY -
(http://www.zshare.net/audio/76508245108b6f/) sample reviewed
Good sample use, but this track didnt grip me as a track to flo over,
more of a track to listen to for the producer---more like a portfolio
track, I would use this as a track to let MC's hear, not to flo over,
but to get a good look(listen) at you as a producer.
SOULWONDER -
(http://www.zshare.net/audio/7707003157bf0a/) sample reviewed
this one flew over my head - I just didnt get it. The build-up seemed
like it was gonna take me to a different place sonicly, but it didn't
This may be one of those tracks I wont get until 2 or 3 years from now, maybe so, maybe not. I bet the one you did for fun (http://www.zshare.net/audio/76939660a6a001/)
was the real gem-too bad my web is down,
I would review that track instead, I'm willing to bet I woould "get" that one.
mr_mantel_216 -

This one was allright, I wish my internet was up so i could get the other tracks for review, this one is good, but from the sound,
I can tell this isn't top dog in your arsenal(sp?),
still a good use of the sample.
TOP DOGS :
Slim Cutty - Dannyblueyes - hendu
honourable mention:
Lebeef - mr_mantel_216 - Kingphred - kboogie2323 - eemrsin
CONCLUSION :
out of the top dogs, this one is really, really close and when it boils down to it SLIM CUTTY and HENDU are so neck and neck its
almost beckons me to request a tie-breaker,
but If I have to call a winner it would be HENDU.
From the first time I heard the track in my car to now,
i can't shut it off. Very good beat making, very good use of the sample
It makes me want to hear more. "Ready-to-Ship" tracks are few,
but this track defines it. Call A&R's, cause you got a gem.
Track is so well put together, I wouldn't let other MC's get their hands on this one, for fear of a platinum single. Hey Hendu get your ass off BGOL
and into a CEO's office
MICROJUBEI's WINNER - HENDU
============================================
JUDGE TEN :
boodahblaze -
Nice laid back piano groover from boodahblaze.
Everything is mixed together lovely and rolls
along nice n steady with cool snare. Interesting
vocal stabs for a chorus too [is that erykah badu?]
Overall nice track.
CHEW MY GRITS -
Grits cuts the samples to smithereens on a heavy hiphop cut.
I prefer the instrumental version personally, as i think it
works better without the chaotic rap. Nice tight snare on this
and Grits cleverly weaves his own melody out of the samples.
Nice hi-hats orchestration too.
Dannyblueyes -
Sex is the name of the game here! Vocal stabs of a woman
reaching orgasm are used to make a chorus. Nice use of the samples
and wah wah guitar. Needs to be used in a porno movie 'coming' near
you soon!
eemrsin -
Noisy! is my first reaction....i said NOISY IS MY FIRST..oh forget it.
hendu -
Bring the horns baby! Slick production from hendu on this
70s throwback that should have made it onto the Jay.Z
American Gangster Album. Fantastic use of the samples and
this really gets you rocking and appreciating the musicality.
Strings, bass, horns, it has it all. Great track.
jay -
Strangely enough this is like the rap version of the previous
entry from hendu. Not taking anything away from jay, its just
that these two went for the same sample section. However this
still has its own feel, and really works well with the rap.
Sounds like a record.
kboogie2323
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! who the fuck let bootsy collins and
bernie worrell up in this motherfucker?! Gotdamn this is FUNKY!
Kboogie has truly proven himself to be a brother who understands
how to bring the funk. On this intergalactic funkmatasmic hulk of a jam!
Quite simply the bassline of the year, for one. And the use of the samples
is just too good to be true. Everything is perfectly matched like they were
meant to be that way. The snare; perfect, hi-hats; sizzling underneath a bed of bass driven Funk.
I FUCKING LOVE THIS JOINT. PERFECTION. Period. [puts track on ipod]
Kingphred -
You know what this is prolly the most creative track so far.
I say that cos its so minimalistic to the ear at first.
And yet if you really listen its got a whole lot going on.
Even more importantly it believes in itself and its groove.
Its piano led with a very modern snare and tiny percussion.
Some great synth create the Aura, weaving in and out of the main
groove. A real atmospheric and very musical track, that gets your
mind working. I like it.
Lebeef -
Was looking forward to the Lebeef track. And as usual he
doesnt disappoint. Extra treat on this one too as it comes
complete with a Nas/AZ vocal version [lifes a bitch] and an
instrumental version too. Its great to hear AZ young voice
on some brand new music. As Lebeef cooks them up some big hiphop
boombap. Using the samples lovely and slamming those horns right
upfront. Heavy ass snare & kick and chunky hihats make this the
kind of hiphop people call REAL.
mr_mantel_216 -
Raw he will give it to ya, with no trivia, raw like cocaine straight from
Bolivia. Mantel's hiphop will rock and shock the nation,
like the Emancipation Proclamation.
mufasa672 -
Man i swear everything mufasa does sounds like its already out on release!
Already selling mad units, blowing up radio, got Funk Flex gassed and just
worn out your 5th vinyl copy! This cat IS A PRODUCER! Somebody seriously needs to sign this dude right motherfucking now. Killer boombap beat with snare to die for, & excellent use of the samples.
Cut up to weave in and out of your mind and keep ya head nodding.
Comes complete with rap and instrumental version and either version
will hurt your neck. Damn it must be nice to be this NICE.
puertorock2005 -
offbeat - onbeat then its to the edge.
This is a rollercoaster ride with a blindfold.
And yet strangely it all works and fits together well.
The samples are stabbing, and the kick is in your face.
Vocal stabs create a slight melody aided by the horns and a lil piano.
Just make sure your strapped into your seat correctly,
Slim Cutty -
Fam Nice bless us once again with a super cool, super smooth,
hiphop bombshell.
You wanna hear how to cut up samples to their core, this is it.
And yet the key ingredient here is consistant movement.
Slim keeps your head nodding and doesnt let you slip for a moment.
With the perfect hiphop snare, sizzling hihats and a boombap kick and
bass holding up the rear. Its the kind of hiphop we wish the
artists would release these days.
Slim truly put his soul into this one. And you know what, its perfect.
smartmoney -
Very industrial monster from smartmoney.
Big beat, big production, designed for the more avante garde
night club. This could do good things in the dance club market.
Not that its dance, but cos its big music designed for huge
speakers, and women wearing body paint being filmed. Creative!
smartmoney - 2nd track:
Smarts second track couldnt be more different from his first!
This is an excellent slice of hiphop funk. Boombap hiphop with
excellent use of the samples. The cuts get your mind racing
while the groove gets your head nodding and wont let go.
This is a true masterpeice of a track, just too damn funky.
Tracks like this make this battle very very hard to judge.
Once again we have perfection.
SOULWONDER -
I tried my best to get into this but sadly it leaves me cold.
No where near soulwonders best work.
TheGambino -
Cool laid back, jazzy hiphop from Gambino.
Nice use of the samples, cutting them up till
their draws are showing! Nice snare on this too.
Original melody created from samples. Good track.
Winchesta Heat -
Thought it was getting cold? look who brings the heat.
Winchesta takes his old sword down off the wall and cuts
the samples to their grassroots. Slicing and dicing them
until they submit and do his bidding. Shimmering hihats
tap dance over a bed of piano, a tight snare and enough
key changes to interest an orchestra. This cat is like
a producers favourite producer. Excellent track.
