Will the next Superman be black? Ta-Nehisi Coates writing new Superman reboot with JJ Abrams directing.

Should be black. If you believe the original man on this Earth was black and made by a creator, why wouldn't the people be black on other planets?

TaNehisi Coates doesnt need to be anywhere around a comicbook character.

He wrote some of the worst Black Panther stories ive read.

Those 2 together is like mixing bleach and rubbing alcohol.
I used to go to the comic book shop specifically to get Black Panther. When that muthafucka started writing Black Panther I stopped reading it after one or two issues. That shit was hot gobbage!!!

Can someone help me out with Val Zod?

He's Zod's son but he's black?
He's adopted. General Zod and wife are not necessarily bad people or villains in a traditional sense according to cannon. Zod, much like Thanos actually feels he's the good guy trying to do the right thing that others are afraid to do. Anyway, Jor-El helped him escape the same way he help Kal-El because he felt kinda responsible for making him an orphan again.

There are obvious holes in this story that would need to be addressed.

Lol!

This is all typical HollyWood hype-bullshit to drum up interest.
The same way those Idris Elba rumors about him being James Bond are always thrown out there.

At this point, I feel AT&T/WB are getting scared if Snyder's "JUSTICE LEAGUE" becomes a success.
And that they realized they fucked up in how they treated Snyder.
Especially when the Dude faced a major family tragedy.
That's not a good look for any company.
So for this sudden "announcement" to come out of nowhere looks bogus to take the sting our of that Vanity Fair article.
JJ Abrams had his SuperMan "moment" like 20 years ago.
And if you seen that script...
Coates' involvement is just a "throw anything on the wall to make it stick" schtick.
Not many of US here even liked his "BLACK PANTHER" and "CAPTAIN AMERICA" runs.

But if rumors are true about Henry Cavill no longer being involved...
ANOTHER MAJOR AT&T/WB FUCK-UP!!!

If anything,
Ray Fisher looks way better right now.
But that Brother still ain't going to get any work after exposing that studio for who they truly were/are.

Oh God please no!!!

There is so much wrong here. First, it looks gay. Second, he's wearing the house of El symbol and not the house of Zod. Third, it looks gay.

Why does he have on clogs? Why is his cape to the side? He looks like he's gonna talk with a lisp.

This.. All of this!!!

My first thoughts reading the article. DC/Warner really does not know what to do with their movie franchises.

As stated above, DC already has Icon. He's our "Black Superman". If DC was smart they would give him his own movie and let black people get behind him (similar to Marvel & Black Panther).

Val Zod was a pacifist. No one wants to see this.
Yes!!!!! This is exactly why it would be such a good movie. It would be totally different from any superman movie ever made. A guy with superpowers who is an introvert who does not believe in violence and who lacks confidence.

This will be a great movie as long as they do not give it to Ta-Nehisi Coates. I'd rather Jordan Peele had or than Coats. Geesh.

Anything that hack Ta-nehisi Coates writes I don't want to read or look at.

Is he also a feminist vegan that wont fight because a proactive hero promotes toxic masculinity? Hell no to this and Michael b Jordan is over exposed.

Man! Can't a knigga just get an Icon movie instead?
Doesn't DC have the rights to the characters from Milestone?
Icon and Rocket >>>>>> black Superman
They have a static shock movie in the works and icon was in a couole eoisodes of the young justice cartoon so why not.

Jj Abrams bout kill his third franchise, star trek, star wars next up superman :smh:

Not the "MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE" franchise for sure.

Ever since Abrams took that one over with the third film (which he directed),
Those films have been non-stop better with each film.
Brad Bird's "GHOST PROTOCOL" being my favorite.

Abrams handling has topped the first two Brian DePalma and John Woo directed films
And how in DA HELL can you be any better than those guys?
Especially Woo???

Abrams SAVED "M:I"

And I honestly liked his "STAR TREK" films.

"STAR WARS"?
Meh.
But it's not like that franchise has had great films anyway.
With the exceptions of "THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK" and "ROGUE ONE".

I always thought the "Hancock" universe was ripe for some great stories. All powerful Black Super Hero who doesn't follow a code... Immortal beings from the beginning of earth's time. Only two left? (recast will smith)....
