Anyway,what effect at all do you think HANCOCK could have on a LUKE CAGE movie.

A)Positive. Would have set the template for strong,black superhero movie.

B)Negative. The non-comics fans might see it as a HANCOCK rip-off.

C)Non whatsoever.The 2 films can stand on thier own merit.


I think any of the above could be true. I must admit that while I like(d. I preferred Cage before Bendis wrote him) Luke Cage,I'm not sure I want to see the movie. Especially not with Tyrese as the star. Tyrese might work better as Kenyatta or even from the Donald Goines novles. At least get a brother whose size ranges from NFL lb to NBA power forward(smaller one) to play Luke.

I hear you... but I don't know if it was that HUGE a mistake. Take Keanau Reeves career post MATRIX and Will Smith's Career in the same period. I think Will is doing better than Keanau right now.

Plus you know how the hollywood types are..they don't want to be typecast. Most are reluctant to take on back to back projects that are of the same type.
Will just came off MIB in 1997 when they probably asked him about the Matrix he probably wanted to do something other than a sci fi movie at that point.

That is why he did Enemy of the State in 1998, and the god awful Wild Wild West in 1999. The Legend of Bagger Vance in 2000

I think the first two Spider-Man movies are what Marvel may do with Stark. Alcohol and its impact on Stark are human interest themes that can drive a movie in their eyes. Peter dealing with Mary Jane, juggling schoolwork, his aunt, Harry etc all lent to the plot. Not saying tat all that is needed, but Marvel rolls like that.

Luke Cage cant even hold down a Saturday Morning cartoon series so what makes you think people will see that shit. This movie will be more proof that White people only want to pay see black people play ball, or be some fucking lame in a fat suit/clown ass fool.

Especially with you guys casting these basically B list actors into the roles.

There are only a handful of black people that can sell out a movie, and none of these Ninjas open up the wallets of white people like Samuel Jackson, Denzel and Will Smith(not saying that they fit the role).
