An assault ended in tragedy on Friday afternoon at around 4:55 p.m. in a wash old-fashioned one located on El Lago Avenue in the Martínez Martelo neighborhood of Colombia. The confrontation left a teenager dead and a man injured, causing panic among residents and locals.
According to preliminary information, 17-year-old Jesús Murillo Utria raided the establishment carrying a firearm and threatened a customer who wore a chain around his neck. During the approach, the victim was shot and had to be hospitalized.
At the time of the criminal action, a plainclothes police officer who was at the scene reacted. The officer pulled out his regulatory weapon and there was an intense exchange of fire with the assailant.
Security camera footage recorded the moments of tension, showing the teenager dressed in black sweater, jeans and white sneakers. The confrontation lasted about two minutes until the young man was hit and died instantly at the scene.
The Colombian police reported that they have already ruled out the possibility of robbery, treating the case as a self-defense on the part of the police officer. The incident is still being investigated by the competent authorities.
