Why Young Black Professionals Are Wary of Dallas, TX (In comparison to ATL/NY/DC)

lot's of interesting comments. thinking about heading to texas, guess dallas ain't the place for me.

Poughkeepsie-Newburg-Middletown? are you fucking kidding me? dodge city up there. that's why I question this article.

this.

and i know it's absolutely true bc i used to live in highland park.

you KNOW MOFOS are rich as fuck when dallas cowboy players can't afford to live in certain neighborhoods.

dallas = white gal heaven... they are EVERYWHERE and they are attractive and paid. but they don't usually crossover; they just live the 'sex & the city' lifestyle or start sucking pussy. it's very rare that they'll get with the brothers. but step to arlington, and everybody fucking. :dunno:

I'm a professional Black Man,I relocated to Dallas, and from my perspective, it is no more or less racist or divided than any other Major City in America. Business opportunities are absolutely great, most professionals are eager to embrace you if YOU are professional, and the cost of living is wonderful.

My lifestyle is damn good, my neighborhood is extremely diverse with people from all over the world, and if I want a change of entertainment venue, the airport is only 30 minutes away. The women? Beautiful!

I've made more money than I believe I ever would anywhere else in the US. What I find that works for me that's consistent in Dallas and the rest of the US is:

I don't live my life based upon the validation and approval of others. If I want an environment that's more pleasing to me... I create it!

Quit worrying about what Dallas offers you... What do you offer Dallas? Want something? Quit bitching and bring it! If not, continue to stay and brag on a place that you didn't have a damn thing to do with creating!

Oh yes, and grow the fuck up. Quit basing the value of an entire City on its Club and social scene. If you don't have a job, life will suck anywhere you are... If you have a good or great way of earning a living life is whatever you make it!

Dallas is whatever the fuck you want it to be!

This is NOT a rub on ATL, just a mind set that I would like to expose:

I have a very well educated (MBA)and professional friend who lives in Atlanta. Loves it! Swears by it! I enjoy hanging out and chasing beautiful ATL women with him. However, over the years, his job situation has been challenging, bank out is challenged, and he's a good Brotha that could use a break.

When he comes to Dallas and see's what I have going on, He's like WTF!!! And what planet am I on! I tell him that with his experience, skills, and education he could make a killing here. Nope, he says he's ATL all the way! I told him he could make his money in Dallas and BUY a home in ATL if its that important. Nope...not hearing it... He called last week asking if I knew of any IT opportunities...in ATL!

I got boys in the NYC, Chicago, LA, and other major Cities who just aint hearing it either.. And I get that! But, at some point you might at least think about gong where the money is for a minute, then taking it back to your favorite City when the situation is right... Too many of us are living in terrible situations being committed to some City that is not personally committed to them. You are young so better your situation then live wherever the hell you want to live!
