The masses are supposed to hate those at the top of their game. No matter what arena it's in. If your spending time to find this kind of information to support your dislike of a person, then you can also spend it bettering yourself. I tend to think that it's not that those people really hate the super starts/successful people personally. What they hate is that it holds a big mirror up to yourself. And it forces you to come to some stark revelations: Maybe I'm not working hard enough to discover and create my own dream life?
Just my 2cents
But hey, I don't know shit.
There is some truth to what you are saying Black.
There is no denying that Kobe has worked hard to get where he is.
The difference is when people use falsehoods to elevate his accomplishments to justify emotional attachments.
I might agree with the person of Malcolm X however I am not so lost in worship that I refuse to look at his shortcomings. There is no way Malcolm should have dropped dime on Elijha's sexual misconduct. Certain things must stay in house. I have heard from some Nation insiders personally that Malcolm actually wanted one of the women Honorable EM slept with.
Being from Chicago I naturally admire Jordan. However I will never say he was the best shooter in the game when he played. He was not the best dunker. He was not the best ball handler. What I admire about Jordan is that he took mediocre teams and won.
What I admire about Jordan is that he was the league for the years he played. When Forbes magazine says your return to a sport has a
10 billion dollar impact on the global economy, that is admirable. Individual marketing for athletes was no where near what it is now, and that is due in large part to Jordan. Bird and Magic were marketed as leading great teams, Jordan was marketed as Himself. Kobe, Lebron and others benefit from the work laid down by Jordan.
Kobe is a basketball player. Jordan is an ICON.
The main reason knowledgeable people have a problem when young people compare Kobe to Jordan is because it shows a lack of knowledge of history.
It would be like comparing Al Sharpton to Martin Luther King.
Its like comparing Usher's career to Michael Jackson.
Its like comparing Keshia Cole to Whitney Houston, and Diana Ross.
The point is to look objectively at any given situation.
A person cannot know the truth about something until one can argue for both sides effectively.
