Why Tesla's Model X Was The First SUV To Receive A Perfect Crash Test Rating

They are expensive. These electric cars are the future, I was in Dedham, MAss today and i did a test drive. Very low maintenance and no transmission.

No
starter
water pump
Ignition coils
Spark plugs
Alternator

Model 3 in my plan

It just has an engine which works off of electric. No transmission. I don't think there is an alternator or water pump either. No starter I don't think. I am not too sure about ignition coils or spark plugs. You have to get maintenance done like once or maybe twice a year.

Doesnt have an engine

Has a motor. Uses electralcurnt to move a magnet creating torque...

Little to no moving parts, even the brakes dont wear out because of regenerative braking

Only if Tesla lived longer who knows what tech he would have added upon from his previous work.

gotta pay for supercharging (the"pumps" you see around)

Not a true statement for everyone. While that is true of model 3 owners, I own a model S and dont pay for Supercharging.

I'm not sure if that will continue to be the case given the recent decision to stop the referral program, but I'd think/hope current owners would be grandfathered in.

I still rather have the Model S.

If & when they release a 1 ton pickup truck :itsawrap:

I'll be interesting to see if Tesla can really compete once more companies start releasing their EVs. Right now one of Teslas biggest issues are around customer service.

Revian seems to be getting a lot of attention for their ev trucks/SUV.

Honestly, I've been trying to figure the best way to profit from the EV move.

Battery recycle, restore.

yeah, I was thinking of the recent announcement about the referral program.
to announce 6 mos. of FREE supercharging for the referrer/referred coming to an end pointed to it's GREAT value.

google, what say you:
Is charging free for Tesla?
Apparently, vehicles sold after November 2 don’t receive the Supercharger credits and they fall directly on the paid program – unless they bought with a referral code, which comes with 6 months of free Supercharging. After 6 months, they have to start paying for the charging sessions at Supercharger stations.
Tesla began phasing out free unlimited access to its supercharger network when it announced that customers who buy cars after January 1, 2017 will have 400 kilowatt-hours, or about 1,000 miles, of free charging every year.

you can still charge for free (but slower) at libraries, etc. or at home with the charging setup, right?

I've seen public charging for free some places. Outside of charging up while being interviewed once, I always use a supercharger. I can also charge up for free at my current job if I needed to do so.You can get a charger installed at your home, but it would not be free.

I'm thinking about what they will do to make the model S/X worth buying over other EVs or more importantly the 3. Personally, I only got the S because of the free Supercharging. I can't say for a fact (never been in a 3) but the experience of the S seems to be very similar to the 3.

Although I fall in to the group of people with unlimited Supercharging, I could see them attempting to limit how long/much you can charge in a setting.

Is that easy to get into and how much would you need to invest up front?
I have no idea. Just a thought I had one day when I was being entrepreneurial. I was thinking more along the lines of buying stock in companies that handle that kind of thing though :dunno:

Tesla issue with service are a direct result of their success... plus they are enjoying 95% customer loyalty (best ever for a car company)

They are ramping up support and opening support centers while training techs for mobile care...

Tesla will be fine because they are so far ahead and will be the only.company that produces their own batteries for at least the next 7 years.

Rivian has hype but haven't produced pr sold any vehicles....

Tesla is staged to become a massively successful company because of their battery tech. Their cars are gravy. If Elon is successful, Tesla will dominate Energy production.

Free supercharging, while great is not a big deal.

Its still a fraction of the price of buying gas... like 70% less.

Most people dont supercharge unless on longer trips anyway.

For day to day I plug my shit in the garage (210) and wake up to a 'full tank' daily

Time will tell. I know a few people who thought about buying a Tesla who reconsidered after hearing about their lack of service.

It's easy to be on top when no one really cares to compete.Fan boys can only protect your gaps for so long.

I have had a few issues dealing with Tesla reps and I hope to never have a big issue with my vehicle.

But that's kind of the point

How many POSITIVE news stories do you hear from Tesla?

Stories are like 80% negative.

It's no where near as bad as people make it seem... and it's not like its 'Bad' its SLOW. The people are kind as fuck and go out of their way to make you feel important... but after that Model 3 ramp up shit has been crazy.

All the stories aren't of Yesla being unwilling or unable to help, its them.bing slow or not delivering on time. Theres a HUGE difference.

Tell your friend to find out for themselves, it seems the media have a vested interest in seeking Tesla fail.
