Scotty Kilmer, mechanic for the last 47 years, shows how Mercedes vehicles can cost a fortune to maintain. And, If you like my car help, be sure to watch my live car talk show every Saturday morning at 10 AM CST on YouTube. I answer your car questions LIVE there. Just check it out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vognj... . And remember, every TUESDAY I upload a new video on the scotty kilmer channel on Youtube, https://www.youtube.com/user/scottyki... , so don’t miss them.

Well, I have the EXACT Mercedes CLS 550 in a 2010..

I agree with him SOMEWHAT.. the brakes being one of the major things.. I just changed my 2 front rotors and brakepads (like a dumbass at the stealership) and it was dam near $900...

the window thing is an easy fix, all you do is put the key in the ignition, turn it one turn and hold UP on the window button... it will reset the window motor allowing it to go all the way up.. it's for pressurization AND to save the rubber window stripping...

a lot of this video is good information, but some of it is propaganda...

Thanks for the reply.

It's not just Mercedes. BMW is also a money pit. Land (Range) Rover is the worst, just a notoriously unreliable vehicle. Porsche and Audi have been historically below average also (i work with guys who own both and i cringe when they tell me about their repair bills), but are showing signs of getting better in newer model years.

If you have the extra cash and time to deal with those vehicles, be my guest. If you want to go with a reliable luxury vehicle, your choices are limited: Lexus (owned one, never had a major issue), Acura (not as good as Lexus, but better than any other), and Infiniti (you won't get good gas mileage, but you will get great performance and above average reliability) are probably your best bets. Tesla is showing great promise also but to new to recommend.
