Pick an easier or atleast the most reasonable Professor in all future classes. A professor can make the easiest subject hard if they want

There were two posts on BGOL for a downloads for College math help books and programs.

Do a search.

What is it? College Algebra, Trig, Cal? They just want to see how well you can complete whatever task is put in front of you no matter the difficulty. Looks good to employers.

I think it all has to do with how the material is presented. I was horrible at math until college. . .. But I had excellent professors who presented the material in way that made it a lot easier than it probably would have. .

Have you tried a tutor?

BRO, GO TO THIS SITE, CHOOSE YOUR TOPIC (ALGEBRA, ETC...), TYPE IN YOUR PROBLEM, IT TAKES YOU THROUGH STEP-BY-STEP, CHECK YOUR WORK. COOL?

Thanks bro! I'm really getting frustrated with this math shit! I am not bad in basic math but when it comes to these fucking Algebra and Calculus shit I fucking hate it! No matter how much I study and practice the fucking quiz and test take a completely different turn. Nothing like what I was studying and practicing! :smh:

I'm going to upload them for you to my site, but you will have 1 hr because I don't keep stuff on the server.

Your Highschool Math Classes Wasn't Shit

I agree...I struggled with math when I first got to college cuz my high school teachers were terrible...I make good grades in every thing but math in college had to work harder at it.

Yeah I been doing tutoring, but here's where I flop, I do good in practice work and homework, but when it comes to the quiz and test shit just looks like confusing as shit!

Don't be too proud to be tutored. Everyone is weak in something. Identifying your weakness is another part of being strong.

College math kicked my ass.
and I'll admit HS math kicked my ass, only difference is, in HS I was given a gentleman's C because I never gave the teachers any problems. If I could just a get a handle on math I could probably get thru...

Math was easy for me until college. After the first week of Calculus. I knew I was gonna have to change my study habits to get through it.

1. Do not take math at 8 or 9 AM.
Can't tell you how many cats failed just because they barely made it to class.

2. Sit in the front, and pay attention.

3. Do your homework. (twice if you have to. You should be able to make it through the homework without thinking about it before your next class).

4. Read ahead and try some of the upcoming concepts/problems.

Basically I found that it was just a matter of applying myself.

If you are really applying yourself, and you just "don't get it" it's time for a tutor.

Sounds like you are not an Engineering major..so you only have 1 or 2 math classes anyway (Calc 1 and Statistics). Those are not that hard.

College Math Is Not Hard At All. You Have To Stay In Your Books Longer Than It Takes To Get Your Homework Completed.

TALK WITH YOUR TEACHER AFTER CLASS. EXPLAIN THEM THE PROBLEMS YOU ARE HAVING. GET TUTORED ITS' NOTHING WRONG WITH GETTING TUTORED.

MY FATHER AND BROTHERS ARE MATH GURU'S. MATH KICKED MY ASS UNTIL COLLEGE. THINGS STARTED TO CLICK AND IT BECAME EASIER. I NEVER QUIT OR SAID IT WAS DA WHITE MAN'S FAULT. I KNEW THAT MY COMPETION WERE GRIDING. MANY STUDENTS ARE ACROSS ACROSS THE GLOBE GOING TO SCHOOL 6 DAYS A WEEK NO PROBLEM.

BITCH STOP THAT COP OUT EXCUSE.

Certain entry level classes are "weed out" classes.

To be an Econ major at my college, you had to take intermediate economics which (a) most people didn't pass and (b) you could only take it twice.

Your High school Math Classes Wasn't Shit

i started attending jr. college classes after being out of school 17 years. i was amazed at how many recent high school graduates weren't no better off than me. st.louis public school system continues to be fucked up :smh:

Practice Practice Practice Practice Practice Practice Practice Practice

Calc 1 is actually the hardest of all Calc levels. 2 & 3 are easy as pi

so either your not retaining the information or he is giving you problems to study, & then they're written in a completely different way on the exams then the way you studied it.

Don't get me wrong I want to learn this shit and get pass it but it seem like it's definitely one of me weak points that need tremendous improving.

Every university makes you take classes you don't need. Regardless of your major, just like in high school, you'll have to have some math, science, english, and history.

What course are you having trouble with and what is your major?

I'm a Broadcast/Television and Radio major and the subject I'm doing is Intermediate Algebra.

Ed note: We have African, Chinese and East Indian students that ace our math classes, tell them your excuse.

the real reason colleges make us take the classes we dont need for our major is money. plain and simple.
