BGOL is one of the good things I am a part of that I can never talk about. Because it's an ass board, I think many folks don't engage because, while there are many, intelligent people here, there are more dumb asses that do stupid shit. So it's definitely a trust issue.

I’ll share this with anyone who wants it… One of my mentors told me to do this a few years back and once I started do it has changed my life. Keep a journal. Pen and paper has power and I don’t know the magic behind it, I only know it works and when I read my past journals I see all of the growing and mistakes. Doing that one thing I give a lot of credit for my current success.

Agreed. A few years back I started writing everything down, even what appeared to be minutia, but it helped me out a lot because I started to recognize patterns.
Right! In addition, it has helped me focus on what works and what is not work sooner. When I started I did not actually believe I could become a millionaire. Now I am focused on becoming one in liquid assets as well!
I just started writting again...all my thoughts and ideas..my writting patterns change..weird shit. One day I will write down what I think is bullshit but it needed to get out of my head and then the next day I'm shocked because it solved several issues or created a new direction.

Successful blacks for the most part fear for their "status". Cats who "have" fear that when they converse or "share" with those who do not have as much, that they will endanger their status. Example, I've seen cats who own clothing stores talking to an aspiring owner and wont give them info on wholesales lists or vendor licenses and when the other dude leaves they'll say "I aint bout to give him the info so he puts me out of business."
Or even when its 2 financial equals, I've seen cats intentionally give cats bullshit stock information because they dont want to them "come up" bigger than they have or say shit like "Nigga aint bout to steal my idea and come up.".. Fear for seeing the next man who "looks like" him in a higher position. Why do you think the term "hater" is used so much in our community? We think that ANYBODY who doesnt have as much as we do and tries to offer ANY kind of input or constructive criticism to your situation is a hater.. Some are, but alot of time the word is misplaced.
At the same time, this is part of the evolution of our people. No different from they do studies on how kids in institutions at meal time hoarded all their food and covered it up. They ate the food very quickly while basically covering it. They were so used to having so little food and when they did have some, others would try to take it, that they ate the food rapidly before others could take it. As they were removed from those institutions into families where food was readily available and everyone had their own...their behaviors changed..
Same thing with money. Blacks have been so used to either having less, or whatever they did earn being taken that some of us spend it up rapidly. As we become "used" to the money...things will change. At the same time cats have to understand things, we have ALOT less to begin with.. Cats always talking about buying homes. Cats dont realize that cycle is long in turn. Cats dont even know what red-lining was. Like how do whites have all the suburban homes? The Government used to guarantee 80%of the mortgages in the suburbs and used to "Red line" the city areas and would not guarantee the mortgages in the city, so that basically eliminated blacks who lived in those cities from getting bank loans, and they couldn't sell the houses they had in the city because no one was gonna get a loan from the bank for a house that was not government guaranteed. ....but I digress.....

For the most part true. We have the opportunity in this Country more so that in any other that I have visited and there are reasons why. However, that will never stop anyone who wants it bad enough to take action.

Im always down to network, but what bothers me is everyone that said they were down to build some shit, or said they would put me in a situation that would allow me to capitalize on my talents jerked me. Alot of shit talking, it seems like 95% ppl just "talk the talk", because they wanna look important amongst their peers in their social circle. 1.The hater just hates. My Man Stick2dascript created a very good and insightful thread if you responded negatively to his comments KILL YO SELF. God damn its like crabs in a barrel trying to bring one another down which is just what we do in real life. Instead of responding back positively you instantly hated on him for what???? At least he is trying to bring up some positive and he has some valid points. You on the other hand don't bring anything insightful so why even respond. Everybody knows your kind you were probably the funny one clowning people in class disrupting shit while others tried to learn. You let highschool pass you by you now probably work in a dead end job have ZERO Goals haven't accomplished anything to be proud of and seriously you aint about business. Its like you have a personal vendetta to hate on somebody else just because your lacking in areas in your life. Once you realize that and stop hating you achieved a big milestone.
2. The semi-hater is definitely the inbetween brother. While you outright dont hate on another man you still see fit to belittle and try to talk back but you bring little to no facts to the table. Like at the lunch table back in the day you was the instigator you want to see action but didn't want to get involved. You my friend are who and what makes the haters thrive because you feed into there bullshit and let them slide. If for once you thought about the shit you say and your actions you would realize you are just as ignorant as the hater. Your on your way to becoming a man but you haven't yet realized your potential. You set GOALS but might be intimidated by the outcome of actually achieving them because you will be looked at as selling out. Selling out is another word haters made up because they didn't want to say the word hate. I like to interact with the semi-haters but at the end of the day I see through your bullshit and its either put up or shut up. No man wants to deal with another man that bitches and complains all the time and tries to pull the race card or some other bullshit to get themselves to think what they are another man is trying to achieve is wrong.
3. Do you Brothers- I have nothing to say about these brothers because there is nothing to say. I just wish these types of brothers are easier to find and network so we can shed some light what a real black man can achieve instead of this negative bullshit we are always associated with. We also need to engage more with the Semi Haters because whether we like it or not the they make up the majority of black men nowadays and teaching them will in essence make the haters the only crabs in the barrel bring themselves down.
Now personally this shit not only applies to bgol but real life. Take a step back when you are around a group of brothers and watch. You will be able to pick out each of these types and then when you see that one brother thats looking back at you outside the crowd there is a brother you might want to holla at.
On a personal note the other day I go to bar solo to get something to eat / drink and I just happened to sit next to another brother. If im out solo I watch my surroundings and stick to myself but the brother next to me just happened to ask what I was drinking so we started up a conversation. (Jameson was what i was sipping) Long story short I had a good conversation with the brother and brought him a drink because I found out we had the same favorite basketball player (Penny Hardway). In no way am I super rich but im not broke either so it was no sweat off my back but to me it felt good just to have a good conversation with another black man that wasn't my friend and who I didn't know previously. In the end I can tell this man let his guard down and he was mad cool he let me know he worked at this eatery around the corner and holla at him or his girl anytime I went.

I feel what you have said here Dawg... I don't agree with some of it because there are a lot of variables to the equation. But know this, someone that is seeking a change in their life and is acting on that will get something… They will come in contact with the right people, they will see the opportunities around them and they continue to have break through after break through until the day they pass!
