Japan didn't have to suffer the same white elitism on the scale we have to so I wouldn't say that they're praising the white is right type of philosophy.

You are completely wrong. After the War Japanese culture fell in love with "everything" American, Rock in Roll, blond hair, and American films. Even Akira (one of the biggest Anime movies of all time) was metaphor for Japanese insecurities ("Tetsuo" being short and diminutive represented how Japanese men felt against American men) "Katsuhiro Otomo" the creator of Akira "admitted this".

Like Lonestar, said all around the world "Whiteness" is elevated to the pinnacle of beauty. In India and various other Asian country's the fair skinned is look is overly appreciated.

Japanese creators being influenced by the west saw that "action archetypes" had a certain look and they emulated this. That look was "blond hair" and blue eyes.

For along time they were pretty much isolated and didn't experience any of the different people or cultures of the world and when they did get a chance to see modern western art especially American animation most of the animation they watched featured animal Characters not humans...

They based a lot of their early adventure cartoons on American "movies". Dude do your research.

Once you start seeing me making all kinds of back-handed (and direct) comments throwing one sister after another under a bus, and then saying something like, "(insert negative comments towards black women) but Michelle Obama is great, so they're not all bad," while putting up annoying pictures like, "PAWGs, thick women without the attitude," THEN call me out. It will be well-deserved.

Also, I've made several comments in the past stating my problems living in Japan. On the whole, being over here has been a very wonderful experience. But discrimination here is as real as anywhere else, I never suggested the otherwise.

I've read Akira but I never bothered to go in on it and research any other information about it so i can't dispute it.

I still think that example and a few others stating that white is better in japan is few and far between.

I still disagree with the blond hair and blue eyes is better argument in Japanese media.

There love for Americana doesn't go any farther than entertainment just like you posted. Music, Film, and some fashion.

Even in these modern times with more western media available the Japanese still follow and honor their own culture above anyones else.

Not saying they don't exist but I've never seen any Japanese man or woman walking around with blond hair and blue eye contacts. In america you can find women and some men of all colors trying to live up to that standard of beauty.

If you don't mind I'd like some examples of early Japanese cartoons based off of American movies.

Only ones I can think of is maybe Lupin the Third and Speed Racer.

lol well me and my girl freind have a running joke about white people.

My girl practices chines medicine and a couple different martial arts and she's constantly telling me about the white men and women who get trained and come back to the states to pass on the teachings. they think that there teachings are so authentic that they even go as far as to change their names to something asian sounding...haven't ran into many asian people that wanted to immerse themselves into western culture and decided to call themselves John Smith.

I have watched COUNTLESS anime...and the LEAD characters or "good looking" ones 90% of the time have NON-JAPANESE or white NORDIC features

Just an interesting point....Naruto is a white character...this is fact. However, he is also the outcasted and most "different" character in the show.

Sasuke is an asian character...and he is considered the hottest/handsomest character in the show.

Shikamaru is a asian character and he is considered to be the smartest person in that show

Shino and Kakashi are asian characters and both are considered the coolest in the show and kakashi is the most popular anime character currently.



Also another person mentioned Ichigo from Bleach as a white character. this is actually false...ichigo is mixed asian. His father is asian. His mother is white. This is also assumed for the lead female Orihime, who while looking white..is similar to ichigo....where most likely half asian (Her brother looks full on asian as if she took features from her white parent and brother took features from asian parent) but of course this is assumption on orihime's part.

perhaps these newer animes are tryna get some love back for the asians? i dont know.
