ne ways i went to this clinic a time wid my friend.. and the doctor came out a said " A. corbin.... this there an A.Corbin out here? .. after a few minutes no body answered.. alll of a sudden a lady got up and start gettin on hype.."My man, call my child by it first name... how many corbins could be out here?....
the man had an embarrassed look on his face but still wont call the first names.. apparantly this woman name her children assholé(a-sho-lé) and rassholé(ra-sho-lé)- this is actually a cuss word where i live. But i feel for those children i mean when u see that shit on a paper the first thing u gone ask ur self.. is should i say this shit outloud? especialy in a kids clinic!

When watching documentaries on the Hollywood, bosses openly discuss the changing of their names to increase opportunity; and like in our community their are those who screamed self hate, but they aren't the bosses that the documentaries are about. Guess they didn't get hired back then so they are not the bosses now.

Mind dropping the names of these documentaries. I'd be real interested to watch 'em.

Actually, I don't think Oprah OR Condoleesa sound black. I'm all for keepin it real but you have to realize these names will harm your kids. Just because you have a few examples of people with unusual names that are successful is no justification for handing your kid a disadvantage from the start. I have heard first hand how people snicker at these names in the workplace. Yeah, I guess you've justified these names in your head but what about your kid? Why should she have to fight this battle???

Only one problem with naming people in Hollywood, a lot of folx have a stage name. That's like saying a rapper changed his real name to <insert stage name here>. Authors also have "pen" names or pseudonyms. Big deal. Everyone doesn't work in entertainment or write books.

Also, there is nothing wrong by default with someone naming their child a specific name. The problem is what we've accepted as normal. A while ago, it wasn't as common to hear India, Asian, African, etc names in the workplace. Now it's far more commonplace. All of them don't change their names & they shouldn't have too. The fuck y'all mean Oprah & Condoleeza don't sound black? What would it sound like if they hadn't been normalized & made popular by people ( successful people ) we already know? Thing is, y'all would be doggin black folx if they named their kids Condoleeza or Oprah had Condi Rice & Oprah Winfrey never existed.

Ain't shyt wrong with LaKeisha, Omari, Yamika just like there isn't shyt wrong with Bill, Sally, Gertrude, Minh, Wolfgang, Malik, Abdul, Sanjay, Ahmed, Akon, Se, Jin, etc.............
