I lurked for a lil while then I joined up. I came for the music and then I realized that its a great place to gather insight into the male psyche. One can learn a lot from here. 
There were also so many informative threads that you need to keep coming back.

Hey, ladies. This forum is in direct response to many of the male posters on BGOL who claim that women who post on BGOL are attention grabbing whores (lol). I'm interested in hearing why other women joined BGOL, and what it is about the website that entices you.
For me, I love the honesty behind MOST of the posters on there...even if it is harsh and blunt at times, it's real and it gives me an insight to what men are thinking and don't tell women (lol).
I've been looking at porn since I was in high school, so, yes, the porn jumps out at me as a large reason I'm here too...that, and the music drops

I like the jokes and clowning, porn, music, honesty, discussions.

I was first introduced to BGOL through my high school sweet heart, he kept talking about this porn star named obsession and how good she was at oral sex-i supposed he was getting his fix on here lol... A few years later, I joined the board and have been coming back ever since...I enjoy the topics, free music, and it fascinates me to say what men think and say amongst themselves... I guess it allows you the anonymity and release that you may not be able to get elsewhere.

Hey...I joined and lurked for the porn. I stayed and lurked for the music and the conversation I would see. I'm a chick (woohoo!) but I didn't want to have to go through all the bullshit other women have had to go through; I don't go online for that. Straight up I came here for the porn and to be honest this site has taught me how to be computer savy. I've actually learned alot by downloading uploading, postin and the like. And the comedy is simply the shit, I just be ROFLMAO sometimes. Oh and by the way I told my girrl about the Sista's forum and she actually signed up, WOW!!! And she hates porn but I think curiousity finally got to her because of all the music, movies and info I relay to her that I've been finding here. Fem girrrrl you did somethin when you did this!!! 
The only reason why I joined this site is because you couldn't lurk anymore. Plus alot of the shit that these losers post used to piss me off--especially when they'd try to shit on black women and blame black women for all of their problems. Plus my wife encouraged me to join since I was alway lurking and downloading music.
I heard about BGOL from another board and decided to check it out. And I have been here ever since.
The humor and porn got me here. The battles that people have on here now are nothing compared to the old days. When Duke and MissMighty had to leave the board. Darth Harlem and them would always be roasting someone with some funny ass avatar or picture, and the Postmaster Generals were still in full effect. Rivercity, Esco and all those cats fighting. Good times.

Absolutely and I think HNIC is a smart business man and knew SOL had a lot of potential- like Femme said in another post Sol is like a lounge, BGOL is the bar room- it's a nice and necessary (imo) balance.
I also came for the porn and comedy but was really taken in by the interesting and thoughtful posters like Dale Mabry, Zero, Tru Fiction, Kaya, Eewill, ofcourse Femme and so many others I can't name them all.
My ex told me about BGOL because of the music, but we laugh daily about some of the threads on here.
