I love Girlfriends too except it doesn't show sex and they don't cuss.

But I was no different than most of the characters on the SATC.

I have a thing for fashion and I love the city. So the show was incredibly parallel to the life I was living. My best friend and I shopping all the time, hitting the latest nightclubs, dating and discussing it over breakfast, drinks, dinner or during another shopping spree. And of course the sex and talking about it. I love to talk about sex but I'm sure you guys are fully aware of that.

I honestly was very surprised how close their depiction was to my real life.

Girlfriends just puts the "sistagirl" spin to it. IMO, it should have been on HBO. It would have been 10X better than SATC.

They didn't always buy $400 dollar shoes. That was one chick, who was the main character. But me and my best friend shopped just as much, if not more. Hmm we spent more money on weaves then shoes. You can always get a cheap knockoff shoe but a bad weave, is a no-no.

And yes my best friend and I would spend sometimes $200-300$ in total clubbing after dinner and drinks. We don't wait on men to get us drinks. That's just absurd.

Ah but those were the days. We'd see our trainer in the AM, then meet during lunch at the mall to find an outfit, sometimes taking 2 hours. Then meeting up at each other houses to get dressed, then do dinner maybe at Justin's or some offbeat spot in L5P, then hitting Leopard Lounge or Visions or maybe take the drive out to Vegas Nights. Drink, drink, drink and drink then dance, dance dance and get our flirt on while dancing.

Check out the eye candy. And if we were still hype after all that, we'd hit a spot to grab a quick bite and relish the evening. Maybe at the Original Pancake House or Bamboo Luau. Man, I ran into Andre3000 there.

Me and my friends have had very similar conversations that the girls in this show had. No we don't buy $400 dollar shoes, we don't have fabulous jobs, we don't have sex with half of New York, no we don't walk around in couture in the middle of the day. But we talk about sex, we discuss our relationships, we have lunch and people watch, we talk about male/female dynamics in society today.
