Why are some black people so damn sensitive all the time about their race.

.........like holyshit kats need to lighten up & just take a chill pill.

Talking to this bi-racial dude (half black & half white) the other day and I made a crack/joke about him being confused & having identity issues cause on a daily basis his white friends treat him as being black & his black friends treat him as being white, so therefore I'm like "it must be a crapshoot not knowing what race to be on a daily basis". So then I was like "if I were bi-racial it would be nice to be white(figuratively) in the corporate world & live that "american dream" that most blacks don't ever get to live and then just be able to flip the script & turn black once I enter the hood". Now the nigga is like trippin & got hot under the collar after I made that remark and wanted to actually fight me(WTF). It was just a fuckin joke, shiiiiit. There was no ill or bad intentions on my part.

Not only that but people can't joke around anymore with one another outside of their own race. White people even though they were associates/co workers made jokes about my west indian background ( and vice versa) trying to be funny like imitating the accent & shit mainly trying to be cool. It don't bother me one bit, cause it's kinda funny when they try & speak patios or any other dialect.

I still say that Don Imus shit was blown outta proportion. Black People have heard a lot worse comments before that were intended for malicous purposes. So if u were offended by that shit, then I feel sorry for ya cause to me it just shows the "enemy" that he is winning or still in control.

The point I wanna make if anything else is that............. as a black person u need to be able to step outside of u'r self with a sense of humor & be able to laugh at u'r self sometimes when being poked fun of by people who are different from u. Having a "screw face" 24/7 is never good. A sense of humor is theraputic for the spirit & the soul(u live longer). The difference maker is learning how to seperate/distinguish a sterotypical joke whether dealing with race or culture by another race and what is the true reality. No matter how many times a kat(black, white, candystripe etc) I know from "timbuktu" makes a crack about my heritage, culture or even race, I can always laugh about it.

If u have a real sense of self then the Don Imus's of the world should not bother u. Only black people who lack any real or true identity within themselves, get phased by racial humor and literally everything that has to do with race about them.

Damn I've never heard of that one.

I don't understand people that make racial jokes all the time. Not saying they aren't funny, but I don't laugh at a lot of them. "Hafhonk" sounds bad. :smh:

I don't neither, I don't see why you should have to stoop so low to make a joke unless you secretly have some hate in your heart. I don't let it get under my skin though you have to remove the power behind the words. I think thats what some people mean by using "n*gga" instead of "ger" version but I've been called both and really I think its the same destructive shit.

Black People have heard a lot worse comments before that were intended for malicous purposes.

Nowadays, it starts out as fun and games then it turns malicious. Cut that shit out at the games part, and you cut out the malice. They know not to fuck with you anymore.

It's all about respect. If I respect you enough not to crack a joke on me, I would hope you'd reciprocate.

And as far as the mixed race goes. You being full-blooded have no idea the psychological torture they go through in identifying themselves. Not only do Blacks treat him as Black, but they also treat him as trying to be White; and vice versa for White people.

I would slap the shit out of you myself for that idiocy
Here you go again with the stereotypes and bullshit. Yeah the tragic mulatto blah blah blah BULLSHIT. I don't got nol type of identity crisis. I am who I am and it has nothing to do with so called racial makeup. Any one who has issues with that is just brainwashed with the Babylon conditioning of the false notions they spew of how certain races supposed to act. If you think we can "go be white" and then "come home and be black again" you are even dumber than I thought. White people by no means think I am white nor treat me as such. I get it worse than y'all do I am the motherfucking ambassador or something. "what do black people think about this or how do they do that". "OMG is that your REAL hair? Can i touch it!" Hold their goddamn arm up to mine "I'm almost as dark as you".
Sometimes they even come with the bullshit of breaking down all my features "you have a white upper lip and a black bottom lip" WTF? Then they ask me what side I identify with which is a loaded question and if i answer black or neither they get offended. Then after all that to come home and get all kinda white girl jokes from my own people makes me feel like flipping like the VA tech dude. To have strangers come up in your face "what are you?", to be continually accused of being Puerto Rican or Dominican or Brazilian(not that theres anything wrong with that). Its a real fuck. Yeah alot of black american people think we got it so easy or some dumb shit. We got it worse cause we n***ers just like you to the crackas we even worse to them it threatens them for whatever reason and then we gotta hear dumb shit from our own people too. JUST LET US BE DAMMIT!

This is "my" theory as why some of us are so "sensitive"

some people have what's called a "scarcity" mentality.

Its like the shy quiet guy that goes to college and then joins a fraternity. Before all that, he felt completely worthless as a human being... now he "believes" he's got a unique social status, respect and friends for life. Its still all an illusion though... but for the time being... he feels really important....

Being quick to point out racism gets you lot's of attention and real fast... its like when a woman cries rape....
