I am not one to shout racism but these town hall meetings and the "birther" movement is because of RACE. People were just fine when Bush was in office totally fucking shit up, no shouting at every meeting but now that obama is in office they swear the country is on the decline when clearly it is on the rise economically for once. Obviously Obama still has core white supporters, these people at town hall meetings are just dejected Mccain Palin supporters, they are still here and this is where you see them.
Why are people so mad at these townhall meetings?

How can anyone feel that he said the country would turn around easily at all? As far as I can remember, he never said anything about an easy turnaround... matter of fact, he said the opposite.
There's a lot of stuff that he's pushing that I can understand opposition to, whether or not I agree with it, but geez, the guy never made any promise about an easy turnaround, so it's not fair to put that on him (and you sound like you're saying "they" felt he promised this to them, so I'm not saying this towards you)

At a lot of the meetings, people are shouting out "Tort Reform!!!!" and just once, I want a speaker to ask one of the shouters to describe what a Tort is. I'm willing to bet that 2/3's of them wouldn't even be able to define it. 
exactly..email blasts and calls have been made to get people in those chairs
the right media has also been inciting people...getting the weak minded all worked up
thats why u see these people acting like this at the town meetings
its about to be election time in 2010 so alot of politicians that may have spoke out against this are treading lightly..
Heck, a whole lot of those protesters have not read it. ...people talking about the government killing their babies and grandmas... they obviously didn't read it... they read some talking points written by someone who also either didn't read it or did read it and decided to ficticiously paraphrase the shit.
No doubt, there's some stuff in there that is cause for legitimate dissent, but there's a whole lot of bullshit out there in them thar crowds.

You know what's even funnier? This "death panel" provision that they're crying about? It was written and proposed by a Republican, Johnny Issakson from Ga.

Anybody catch the Lawrence O'Donnell interview with that woman named Katy Abram that was questioning Arlen Specter the other day ? The one who asked when he'd do something to restore the country back to what the founders wanted it to be? ...and how she didn't want this to be a socialist country like Russia?
Ohhh man, Lawrence treated her with kid gloves, and she was fairly sympathetic in that she was well behaved and not raving or anything... but my God, she ethered her damn self. She was as bad as G. Gordon Liddy was on Hardball a couple weeks ago. She admitted that she didn't know shit, and couldn't really say what she meant by her statements and questions.
I'm only a little mad that Lawrence didn't ask her more about how she wanted the country to be like the founders wanted... .he should have asked her if she liked the way that the founders didn't give women the right to vote

Jo, you need to blame the media for much of the petty crap. They hype up the little stuff so much that it becomes a distraction (and a political tool of the right). If he didn't do that 'beer summit' we would still be talking about that. These townhall disruptions are also a distraction planned by corporate interests and covered in depth by the media. Keep in mind that the media urges him to comment on petty issues...that "Acted Stupidly" comment came in the last 2 minutes of an hour long briefing on Health Care....
I feel like he's doing everything in his power to turn this ship around. Like everyone is saying, it's not going to happen overnight. Short term results aren't going to happen after 8 years of destruction unfortunately.
