Why are Latinos and others groups trying to say they created Hip-Hop when it was really Black people?

Your using 2 different words mc and rapping. Define mc.
Dude you are talking in circles, I've already explained it to you like ten times, are you slow or what But let me break it down one more time, for you and only you.
Just because you say rhymes don't make you an MC or a rapper, for example, these songs do rhyme, and its sort of like rapping, but as I said without MCs, its not HIP HOP

Did this song make Blondie an MC, no even though she was technically putting rhymes together?

Technically he is rhyming but is this HIP-HOP? Hells no!

These guys are sort of rapping are they MCs? No because real MCs don't just make one rap song, so sorry this isn't real HIP HOP

These are real MCs and this is real hip hop and if you can't tell the difference between rhyming and real HIP HOP then I have to question if you are even black!

Now would you like for me to explain to you the difference between a HIP-HOP DJ and a radio disc jockey?

Can't fuck with the facts so you try to diss the person, classic idiot ad hominem bullshit. Too bad you are not talking to a dumb dumb on your level!
Wanna destroy my argument simply, show me MCS rapping before 78 and save the slick talk for someone don't know no better!

Caz said at the beginning of HIP HOP this is going around the time of Herc and Mario the Spanish people weren't into hip hop this is true but my argument is that it wasn't really hip hop then< because they were still calling it disco and if he trying to say that Spanish people wasn't into disco then I will call him a liar to his face. Again the development or the foundation for Hip HOP started before 78 and as I stated earlier, I can't quantify how much or little Spanish people had a hand in the foundation, but I will take Caz word for what he said. My argument is about HIP HOP itself, not the foundation, and in his own words by 78 when HIP HOP was an official thing not a branch of disco where you had official MCs rapping, there were PRs in the mix.
Also prior to 78 many of the rappers were simply hype men for disco DJs where the sound system crew would battle, but by 78 we have official documents showing people rapping and the MC being front and center the main attraction with the DJ.
So my thing is this is turning into a semantics argument where you are pushing the date of HIP HOP being a thing prior to 78 while I am going by the actual evidence of not being able to find a mix tape or even a flyer or poster that list MCs or HIP HOP prior to 78, show me the evidence then I have no problems changing my stance, I am not nearly invested in the subject as you guys seem to be.

So you don’t understand what rapping is and now your adding rhyming and an mc.
let me explain.
rhyming is putting words together that sound the same.

rapping can have rhyming but is not based on that. To rap is to talk to. A term old street hustlers often used as in “hey let me rap to you”. Or a pimps rap.
This is where they got the idea of toasting from. Old radio disc jockeys would rap to his listeners meaning talk to them in a rhythmic way.

Mc is master of the ceremony. As in a host who conducts an audience with a mic or no mic.

With that being said those first 2 songs are rapping
And the jubilees are definelty rapping.
Rapping not rhyming is an element of hip hop. Which means that originated here.

Before there was records of hip hop it was done in front of an audience which is why they were called mcs technically. conducting a crowd.
So yes the “jubilees and pigmeat” were rapping.

that rap element combined with b boy dj and graffiti elements became what is known as hip hop culture.

Dude, you must be white or young from another state, because you sound like you get all your information from the internet! Dude I lived in the Bx, and Brooklyn I spoke with Melly Mel, knew Cowboy, and everyone in the South Bronx knows my family so fuck what you think you read online, I was there and got family who was there from day one.

Bottomline is that unlike what you stated. Black and Puerto Ricans were not fucking with each other like that. They wasn’t fucking with artist like James Brown (Jungle Music).

Puerto Ricans were not there from the beginning of the creation of Hip Hop but came later towards the 80's.
So Fat Joe and others talking that 50/50 or you with the 10% shit is bs.
Puerto Ricans didn't create break dancing, MCing, Graffiti, or DJing. They contributed to what was already in existence.

watch how fast that topic gets avoided..

Racist italians and many puerto ricans got along very very very WELL!!! During the EARLY DAYS OF RAP!!

Kool story bro, only problem I never said they created shit, my exact words are they were there at the start of hip hop, and the official start was around 78.

No doubt about it, you cannot deny SOME were sprinkled about,

but THEY is a strong pronoun when talkin about anything latino

supporting anything from us AA's aka Aboriginal Americans...

Not only that, ask him why they abandon hip hop for freestyle (electric dance music) when real brothers from Brooklyn and Harlem started getting into the game.
Because, keeping it a buck, to me modern hip hop on wax didn't start until The Show, with Dougie and Slick and Def Jam, prior to that, Sugar Hill and all those other labels cold played those old Bronx rappers making them sell out and instead of making real hip hop they got them looking like clowns.

Folks from Harlem, Queens and Brookly wasn't fucking with this bullshit!

Ok. So they watched us create it
I have no problems with this statement, but to be honest I really don't know what they were doing from the 40-77.
I will say this, prior to 76 the Bronx was fucked up due to gang wars (my family was in that shit deep) and HIP-HOP was one of the things that killed the gangs because from the start it was about love and unity. So its possible that even some of the Latin gangs got together squashing the beef and forming different crews. Matter of fact the Netflix show The Get Down touched on this.

Brooklyn (other than Ridewood and Williamsburg) doesn't give a fuck about Hispanics. That's why when Brooklyn and the other boroughs started getting involved with HIP HOP all those so-called Spanish pioneers abandon ships fast!
It’s a Brooklyn nicca (busta rhymes) claiming this

Who you think Run Dmc was talking about in sucker MC, at first Brooklyn was rocking with Flash and them cats but then when the labels had them, the Moe Dee and Bam look like fags and suckas, we said fuck Sugar Hill and those duck ass homos and came up with our own style of hard rap.
This is the same year all the Puerto Ricans invented sucker freestyle music which is a bastard version of HIP-HOP that flopped hard!

You mentioned Bensonhurst and Howard Beach. My older brother was telling me how you had to be careful going around 116th and Pleasant Avenue in East Harlem back in the 1960's. This was an enclave for a large Italian population.

In fact you pay to fly over there and pay them so you can have gay sex.. remember nobody asked you to prove you were gay you came out yourself and was proud of your accomplishments. Glad to be vindicated.

So, @RoadRage....your point?

Where are the Latinos?
Actually, I would like to "Thank you," for the information. What I found interesting was that the brothers were making some interesting points about who is and who is not being acknowledged. In addition, that is one precocious 12 year old who resided in the Bronx.

Me too, they were both wack, but they were hype men that made their names in the fever, Mo was a real MC so that was light work.

Actully I never mentioned the Sugar hill gang, you are getting mixed up with Sugar Hill records. Two different things fam.
Well you mentioned bam in that sentence. He was never on sugar hill records.
And damn. Has anybody from Brooklyn ever won a rap battle.

Back then nobody was trying to battle Brooklyn crews around 83 because by then all those old dusty Bronx rappers were looked at as a sucker mc, sold out or strung out on drugs. Plus, knowing Brooklyn back then, they would have jacked them for their set.

Starski was a hypeman who was hyping up disco crowds before hip hop officially was a thing.

Knew that was coming. I re-quoted the article, because the writer himself explained the difference. I also bolded the essentials.

In a 2014 interview, Hollywood said: "I used to like the way Frankie Crocker would ride a track, but he wasn't syncopated to the track though. I liked [WWRL DJ] Hank Spann too, but he wasn't on the one. Guys back then weren't concerned with being musical. I wanted to flow with the record". And in 1975, he ushered in what became known as the Hip Hop style by rhyming syncopated to the beat of an existing record uninterruptedly for nearly a minute. He adapted the lyrics of Isaac Hayes "Good Love 6-9969" and rhymed it to the breakdown part of "Love is the Message".[53] His partner Kevin Smith, better known as Lovebug Starski, took this new style and introduced it to the Bronx Hip Hop set that until then was composed of DJing and B-boying (or beatboxing), with traditional "shout out" style rapping.

The style that Hollywood created and his partner introduced to the Hip Hop set quickly became the standard. Before that time most MC rhymes, based on radio DJs, consisted of short patters that were disconnected thematically; they were separate unto themselves. But by using song lyrics, Hollywood gave his rhyme an inherent flow and theme. This was quickly noticed, and the style spread. By the end of the 1970s, artists such as Kurtis Blow and The Sugarhill Gang were starting to receive radio airplay and make an impact far outside of New York City, on a national scale. Blondie's 1981 single, "Rapture", was one of the first songs featuring rap to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

And you still haven't answered about the Latinos. In 75, there wasn't many Latinos that was cool with us. In 75, most of them were in gangs fighting against us.

So tell me, where did these Latinos get rid of their prejudices & teach black folks the art of hip-hop, being that they created it, supposedly?[/QUOTE]
