I have no problems with this statement, but to be honest I really don't know what they were doing from the 40-77.
I will say this, prior to 76 the Bronx was fucked up due to gang wars (my family was in that shit deep) and HIP-HOP was one of the things that killed the gangs because from the start it was about love and unity.
