Who's the Real G.O.A.T???

Bruh the only reason you think Jordan is the GOAT is because of sneakers. He dont got the most rings (Russell) and he dont got the best stats (Wilt). He only went to 6 Finals. Like Mars Blackmon said, its the shoes bruh. Its the shoes. Mofos still make money off his likeness. Not the same for Russell & Wilt. But from a basketball standpoint, between the lines, they did FAR more for the game and are bout 100 times more impactful. Jordan's an OWNER in this era and is a NON FACTOR.
jordan had a better scoring average than wilt..won more titles than wilt.. has more all time points than wilt..won more finals than wilt..has more finals mvp than wilt..bill was a dude who was lucky to be on a great team..wilt was way better than bill..bill rebound but his offense was garbage, his points was garbage..he's not even the top 3 to ever play center.. i'd choose wilt, dream, kareem, hell shaq, moses malone, even david robinson over that guy..if u wanna put tim in the picture i'd pick duncan over bill to..bill got rings but overall skill wise he not in the same sentence as 1 of the top 5 to ever do it... wilt numbers wise was prob the most dominant player in his era and we will most likely never see them kinda stats per game ever again in someone's prime..but the question will always remain would he have did similar things in the modern era of bball

Jordan played in a watered down era. All those championship runs came at a time when the league added the most expansion teams. With at least three in the East.
a water down era with the most hall of famers ever who happen to almost lead in every top category.. jordan played when kareem was playing "the all time leading scorer".. he played with karl malone"2nd all time leading scorer".. played with stockton "all time leading assist".. mark jackson "top 5 assist"..magic top 5 assist..jason kidd top 5 assist..played with top centers of alltime kareem, dream, shaq..played during 3 dynasty..showtime, celtics, bad boys..played vs the top 3 blockers of all time the dream, dikembe, kareem..lets not forget all time 3 point leaders ray allen, reggie miller.. many members of the top 50 greatest of alltime are in jordans era..so how water down could it be..hell he prevented many of those guys to get rings..magic didn't get his 6th ring cause of jordan..the alltime leading assist leader and the 2nd all time leading scorer got denied twice cause of jordan..he denied the number 1 leader in steals of alltime in stockton a chip as well as number 4 alltime in gary payton, hell even number 7 alltime in steals clyde drexler championship got put on hold cause of jordan

Peace,

"Old man" Wilt went thru PRIME Kareem to get 1 of his chips. Jordan couldnt even get to a Final when "Old man" Kareem was in the league. Jordan doesnt play in today's league either. He hasnt played in almost 15 years. And before that 20. In his prime the league was littered with white american players like Mark Price, Jack Sikma, Scott Skiles, Tom Chambers, Danny Ainge, Chris Mullin, Dan Majerle, Frank Brickowsi, Kelly Tripucka, Judd Buechler, etc. Some of these guys were frequent all stars. TODAY, the only white american all star is Kevin Love. And he's a bitch ass Cav that rests.

Go back and look at clips of Jordan dunking over those white guys, soaring thru the air with his tongue out in the 80s & early 90s. He was the most athletic player in the league easily. He was "Air". Today MJ wouldnt even be top 5. The athleticism from the point guards, small forward, and power forward positions is waaaay better than when Jordan entered the league. And "old man" Jordan wasnt even playoff caliber. Jordan wasnt a great or even decent 3 point shooter which is the opposite of TODAY's game. Jordan thrived in the triangle offense, which has proven on 2 different franchises over the last decade doesnt work in TODAY's game.

Just look at his era when more athletic players came into the league his scoring average dropped and his shooting percentage fell below 50%. He started to rely on his fadeaway jumpshot more and trips to the free throw line.

Cats cant have it both ways. You cant act like Wilt & Russell faced all these white boys and MJ didnt. You cant act like the best players guys like Wilt & Russell & Kareem had to face for their chips arent rated higher than the Barkleys, Malones, Paytons, that MJ faced. Bulls didnt see not 1 all time great center in a Final. Not 1. Thats the opposite for Russ & Wilts era were you had to have a Hall Of Fame big in their patrolling the paint, locking shit down to even have a chance. Wasnt any Luc Longley, Greg Ostertag, Vlade Divac type bullshit goin on in them days family.

That's also why I say that all of these cats would have been great in any era, because they would have adapted to the times.

Peace,

I agree with that sentiment.

Most of Jordan shoe fans dont. They belittle the players who paved the way for him and those who come after him to keep him propped up. If he was as great as they say that wouldnt be necessary. I can give you a laundry list of reasons why Wilt is the GOAT without mentioning another player.

And my arguments wont revolve around ONLY volume shooting and scoring. Tallblack never talks about %, rebounding, assists, and other dimensions of basketball for a reason.

a water down era with the most hall of famers ever

Of the NBA's top 50 greatest players, Michael Jordan faced or played with 20 of them over the course of his career.

Of the NBA's top 50 greatest players Wilt Chamberlain faced or played with 28 of them over the course of his career.

Jordan was guarded by Byron Scott, Clyde Drexler, Dan Majerle, Hersey Hawkins, & Jeff Hornacek in his 6 NBA finals appearances. Only Clyde is a HOFer of the bunch.

Wilt was guarded by Bill Russell, Nate Thurmond, & Willis Reed in his 6 NBA Finals appearances. All 3 are in the HOF.

The 1964 Celtics Wilt faced in the Finals featured 7, yes 7 HOFers. The 1969 Celtics featured 5, and the 1973 Knicks he faced featured 6.

The most Jordan faced in a Final was 2, Magic & Worthy in '91 and Stockton, Malone in '97,'98. Every other team he faced in a Final only had 1 HOFer ('92 Clyde, '93 Barkley, '96 Payton)

When we present facts, stay away from "surface" arguments, and hype we see who faced the tougher competition at their respective positions and in their eras.
