Van Hunt.
Not many probably know he won a Grammy for some of this latest stuff. States his shows are him and his guitar and/or piano. The second vid is probably more known.

Eric Roberson is my pick. Dude is crazy with it and he writes songs for everyone's fave artists too, on the DL.

what ya'll know about

sam salter

only the first album tho

:eek::eek::eek:

HOLY SHIT!!! I thought I was the only one up on Sam...cats don't know man...that is still one of my favorite R&B albums of all time..."I Love You Both", "Everytime A Car Drives By", "Thinkin' & Trippin'"...Hell every song on that album was jammin'!!! :yes::yes::yes:

I hate that dude got overlooked due to poor promotion and just plain ol' bad timin'. And that 2nd album just wasn't the same. :smh: Although "Once My Shit Always My Shit" (the song about Ginuwine's fine ass female rapper wife Sole) was a hot song IMO.

Other than Sam, I would have to give most underrated to my nigga Tank. Dude is killin' these niggas in the game when it comes to the vocals...he can pretty much take it anywhere you can think of vocally...plus he writes most of his own shit & produces a lot of it as well. Plus I met dude in the studio before and he is the truth...he sounds just like he does on the records without all the fancy studio tricks. He always seems to be able to come up with a hit song to keep his name out there but he never quite reaches the level of success that he should.

Props on the Donnell Jones, Avant, Sam S. and Tank...But my vote goes to Will Downing.

Will has much more of a following in the jazz community than in R&B.

And I'm mad I forgot Rashaan Patterson.
Here's another, though it's a throwback.

how so?,,, what's the tightest r&b song on the radio right now?

they fucked up the r&b game when they made music a "24 & under" thing,,, what is a 17 year old gonna tell you about love?

Akon is 35. Dream in his 30s too.

It seems like your just old & bitter.

Every generation hates the one that comes after it...I bet back when you were comin up in the Early 90s, kats in their late 30s and early 40s hated on the current Music then, too. :cool:

..Too many to name simply because they all are underplayed and under exposed due to the hip hop/rap craze that has taken over the air waves....its sad that the truly talented get by-passed for BS rap thats not even really music most of the time ...but my top choice would be DWELE.
