Who do you think would make the best running mate for Obama in the general election? My vote goes to Colin Powel then maybe John Edwards. What do you think?

Colin Powell is a republican and lied to the UN.

John Kerry / Hillary woul make good running mates as VP.

One of my White Buds has been going on about a Obama/Powell ticket for almost a year already.

That is a good question. Usually you would select someone who can deliver votes on their name. i have to think on this one fam, give me a minute.

Peace fam,

I would say bill richardson because he can help deliver the latino vote in places like cali, texas and florida. Plus, it would be like that joke chris rock told about a black pres and mexican vp. We know no one would want to assassinate obama.

Obama's runing mate would be a really tricky thing to decide.
He would need someone marketable with experience but who also would fit his message of change.
The only people who jump out at me are Kucinich and Edwards but Kucinich would never be chosen and Edwards would probably not want the gig.

General Wesley Clark--Former General from the South, has a following and has spoken out against Bush's fuckery for a long time.

John McCain he is an old grumpy pragmatic fart....he is experienced and will appeal to the more conservative voters (i.e. OFAYS). Center to left Obama is a lock he will get people out to vate that haven't before. If not McCain a Southern govenor, Obama has to win a few southern states.

That would be a dumb move for the Democratic Party... McCain is a repub.. and would then be next in line for the presidency after Obama serves his 8 years...

man, much as i LOVED it when obama won last night, i'ma temper my happiness cause it was only ONE primary....let's see how he does next week in NH and a few months down the road.

but if he gets the nom? i think edwards would be a great choice for vp. i think he would pass on the job though....unless he has an eye on running after his vp term is up

eh..Bill Richardson ISSzzz a Straight Up "Diplomat" / Governor with Excellent Foreign Relations Connections.. He would be a good choice for that reason and being a Latino I guess... I would also maybe like to see an Obama/Edwards ticket.....

Kucinich, Edwards, or Dodd.

Obama needs a good progressive candidate to balance him out. I know many of you all love obama and thats cool, but on the issues hes almost the same as hillary.

I Don't Care Who Wins The Election America Will Still Be Racist And Whites Will Still Have The Most Power.

My first mind says Hillary, but that's too easy of a target for the republicans and the independents would stray because of Clinton name. Also, sadly, a black/female ticket would scare away the insecure white male voter.

Edwards would be the best, because
1. Edwards supporters would vote for the ticket
2. Hillary's base consist of the most liberal democrats out there, they would vote for almost any Democratic ticket rather than vote Republican.

Hell no. Cali is a given for the democrats no matter who runs. Florida will most likely go democratic this time also. Why do people think Latinos have a lot of votes??? I know there is a lot of them, but they don't have as many votes as you think. Plus they all don't like each other. People don't realize that the base of the democratic party is Black People.

I wouldn't pick Kucinich. Kucinich is horrible with money. I think he ran Cleveland into debt.

This might be a good choice. LOL

I think if Obama goes the southern govenor route, he should choose the governor of Tenn. Another choice he should consider is Senator Joe Biden. Even though he said that fucked up comment about Obama, which he tried to mean well, he would be a good running mate.

My dream scenario would have been this: Obama not win this election and hillary wins the democratic bid, a republican wins the office, the country goes to crap. Then Obama would run again in 2012 and his running mate would be Ford from Tenn. 2 sharp brothas in the white house. The bad thing is Ford fucked his political campaign up because he is marrying a white chic. Like Al Sharpton said, when you don't play to your roots and be who you really are (meaning black people running for office), white folks won't vote for you, hence why Ford and Steele didn't win the senate seats they were running for and Obama won his.

Wow i wonder if there has been a situation where a person switched parties? im sure there have been a few i think Hillary Clinton, Ray Nagin, Michael Bloomberg, Pat Buchanan, Condoleezza Rice, even Ronald Reagan switched parties. I don't care about 8 years from now I care about the present.

Gen W. Clark would also be a good pick

Holy shit, that had me dying, You're right, as much as whites might not like Obama, they don't want someone to rep those illegal immigrant votes that are bound to get him re-elected
