After Saturday's battle between then #1 ranked Memphis and #2 ranked Tennessee, Tennessee came away the victor. North Carolina was then ranked #3. Memphis and Tennessee swapped rankings, leaving North Carolina at #3.

When Tennessee loses tonight, as I predicted on Saturday in the Official Memphis vs. Tennessee game thread, who do feel should take over the #1 spot?

It would be difficult for me to see Memphis move back up there. But, I am a die hard Tar Heels fan. So I admit, I'm biased.

Texas has 4 losses thats why but they are good though. Right now I think they should get a #1 seed over my Bruins just b/c they beat them in Pauley. UCLA will smash them in a rematch though b/c Darren Collison is 100% now.

Called the Tennessee victory of Memphis. Got the #2 spot in the USA Today/ESPN poll. Got robbed in the AP poll.

But wait...it gets better.

Tennessee goes on to lose to Vandy/Kentucky or both, catapulting UNC to the #1 spot. UNC beats Duke in the ACC championship.

They are rewarded the #1 spot in the tourney and beats Memphis in the national championship game.

Called the Tennessee loss. We'll see how this thing plays out.

You might have a better record, but the squad has serious problems in critical areas. Lack of free throw shooting and rebounding will come back and hurt you in the tournament like it did against Tennessee...

The way it looks right now, my Tigers are gonna win out and have the overall #1 seed.

However, I think if UNC is tough enough to beat Duke at Duke and win throughout the ACC tourny, then they should rightfully be #1 but I highly doubt that would happen

At this point of the season, bragging rights are non effective. It's all about securing the high seeds in NCAA tournament.
