Then ciroc came on the scene and people started drinking that. I was naive at the time back then and thought that shit was good when it wasn't but just a popular drink at the time.

I remember that shit. I liked it as a warm up to some stronger shit. Last 5 or so years I avoid drinks with sugar, it's gotta be straight whiskey, or IPA for beer, and or wine when I'm chilling with fam and friends.
