Who else uses the word OFAY to describe white people...

.....and what is the origin of the word? I use when I'm out in public and I want to talk about them w/o them knowing who I'm talking about. I picked it up from a friend's father like 20 years ago....just don't know what the hell it means.

Slang for whitey. Use a lot in the 40's and 50's by blacks living in Harlem and other northern cities with large black populations. Was a favorite expression among black musicians and singers to describe whites.
