Which Download Manager Are You Using? (MiPony - JDownloader - IDM?)

I'm deciding which one I should start using.

MiPony looks interesting but I can't figure out if it's browser or what and how to integrate it with FF

JDownloader seems to be a little rougher looking, but works. Just need to figure out the interface which is kludgy.

Internet Download Manager is what I'm most familiar with. It puts a little arrow above a flash video so I can instantly DL stream sites and what not.

....which are you using?

How are these better per se?

FreeRapid sounds like it's tailored for Rapidshare.
I need something than is good with everything, not just Rapid and Mega.

i'm unsing downloadthemall right now and it havent have a problem with it at all.

its simple to use too once you configure it right. the way i have it setup now all i have to do is scroll over all the links right click and download them all there's also a little arrow next to your toolbar that if you press it, it allows you to download all the links on the current page you're browsing. can't beat it imo

trying to see what mipony has to offer as far as bypassing sites i dont have premium access to

i missed the bus. i always willing to try something else. it works for me. do you know ppl moved from this? i haven't found anything that works as well as this. imo. i know there is more i've tried jdownloader and it was too much for me. i use only rapidshare. but i hear you can put a hotfile in flashget also. so im thinkin of moving over.

IDM...once u go into download options and set it so that it doesn't download everything! automatically.. it works great.

Firefox with Download helper add on.
Use Real Player downloader. Both work
great for me.

I would suggest JDownloader too. Never worry about a 1000 rapidshare links ever. MU management is the sweetest though...:dance::dance::dance:

BTW I uninstalled MiPony after 10minutes.

I use jdownloader also..
Works great for any file host that I've come across and also unrars or filejoins.

It also works for most "tube" sites, and also for those multi uploader or link blocker/hider links.

jdownloader, its great when you download files with multiple links. it unrars it for you, and deletes the rar files. comes in handy when i donwload blu rays that are like 4gbs with 25 download links. i use downloadhelper to download flash videos.

Jdownloader looks like shit, but it gets the job done and has gotten me 246 movies so far, I dont see a need to replace it..
Just set it and forget it.

MiPony

I hvaen't run into a site it doesn't handle. It's a standalone clipboard detector. Anytime you copy an address, it'll detect it. Even better, It'll parse out just the address from plain text if you copy a whole paragraph. The only thing I don't like about it is you can't change the filename until the file is downloaded like you can with bit torrent

Jdown. Haven't had too many issues with it. I get my files down from all sites including youtube, porntube and all the rest of the tubes. Its like the georgeforman rotissirie deal "set it and forget it".

FreeRapid downloads all, Mega, hotfile, depositfile, etc... I just set it and forget it.

Downthemall I use for RS files since I have an account, and all I have to do is highlight a bunch of links, right-click and downthemall.

Ok, so I'm trying Jdownloader for awhile alongside MiPony to see what's what.

JDownloader Q's:

First, how do you get it to NOT want to pick up and everything it sees. Link Grabber is trying to DL pics and gifs and anything I come across! Much too powerful and potentially dangerous! With IDM I could tell it what file types I wanted it to look at and what I didn't. This thing just automatically link grabs and stores EVERYTHING!

Second question, how do you get it to schedule DL? I like to set my DL's to start rolling at like 2-3am and wake up with a fresh batch of content.

Third question, how do you defeat the "TOS" check box for a new dl from MU, RS, etc. IDM never had me do this? :dunno:

Fourth question, any advantage in going up to the premium edition?

1. I don't have that problem. It only tries to download links that you copy to the clipboard. (right click/copy). Even if you get stuff in the list you don't want, you can remove it as it won't start downloading just from being copied.
Occasionally I will get links that I don't want or that don't exist anymore. I will ctrl/select the ones I want then right click and continue with selected. After that hit clear list to get rid of the junk.

2. I cant find a way to schedule it. I like mine running all the time..It's going in the background anyway and not using a bunch of resources that I can tell.

3. The TOS only comes up one time..the first time you download from a host. Doesn't bother me it's just one click. If you want you can check them all off in settings/plugins/host

4. Sorry no clue..free works great for me..

Ok JD did something cool which may have me sold. I put in a Youtube link and it immediately asked me if I wanted just the AUDIO ripped to MP3 or the whole file in FLV.

Music collection about to get fatter now.

Now how do I get it to STOP tying to DL everything in link grabber? Where are the filters?

Yep that is a cool feature..it does that for all flv/tube sites.

I found the scheduler..
Addons/Addon Manager/ checkbox in Schedule.

i use sometimes jdownloader but mipony is the shyt. i have notice that if u have many MU, HF or RS links to download in jdownloader it stops downloading a link or two, then sometimes it disconnects

i have been using mipony for 2 months now and i dont have any of these issues, i copy and paste and all the links download properly with no problem
