which death from The Wire affected you the most?

next one believe it or not was kevin
the look on his face when they put his fat ass in the back of the truck, and then the look on slim charles face when he saw him in the back of the truck...both of them helpless, one about to live one about to die both knowing what time it was, that was some real shit to me.

little kevin's death didn't bother me so much. mostly because he had a couple bodies on him, so what goes around comes around.

man, i dont like it either, and i'm not the one who wrote that show.

all i can do is understand what was presented.

everyone agrees that Mike becomes Omar, but NOBODY liked the fact that Omar was a RAGING "love them tender" homo.

Mike got raped...was fearful of ALL MEN...accused Cutty of being gay, and his accomplice looked like one of Omar's BOYFRIENDS.

that WAS NOT at ALL accidental.

i do not WANT Mike to be gay, i'm not attributing shit from my own understanding, i'm just UNDERSTANDING what the writers were saying.

DOUBLE NAH bruh!!!

Mike wasn't afraid of all men, he was close with Chris, he was fearful of men touching him!

As I pointed out before, why show Mike fucking a girl if he was gay?

They specifically showed him in bed with a chick in the apartment, it was their way of showing how Mike was quickly becoming a man..

If he was gay, why not have him hit on Duquan when he was living with him?

Duquan was totally dependant on him, he would have had no choice but to give in.

Mike was most likely molested however his brother most likely was not YET which was why Mike moved quickly to get rid of dude, remember he had been gone for awhile.

I also partially disagree on the Omar comparison, Mike only became like the new Omar due to his circumstances, he was on the run because there was a bounty from Marlo on his head, this was why he became a stick-up kid, other than that he would have become the next Chris.

Omar chose to become a stick-up kid.

John Dillinger was asked why does he rob banks.

His answer..."Because that's where the money is!"

Mike and Omar before him robbed dealers because they had the money HOWEVER as far as we know Mike did this because he couldn't show his face ANYWHERE!

It's simple math, 2, 3 or 4 people can rob more than one, you need eyes on people, this was why Omar linked up with those girls.

You're reading stuff that ain't there bruh, the writer's would have dropped hints if that's what they wanted you to think, in other words they NEVER would have shown Mike with a girl to begin with!!!

If the Wire didn't effect you in some form or fashion than you wasn't paying enough attention to the show. Yea its just entertainment but entertainment can have a effect on you personally. Good entertainment usually does and the Wire brought you in for 5 seasons and never let you go until it was ready.

 I can't see anybody from the show playing in anything else. Yeah, I'm very glad they're getting work, but it doesn't feel right. Since my addiction to that show, I completely understand broads and their soap opera infatuations.

I agree with most of what you said except this part. Did the show ever touch on why he became a stick up kid?

They did have a prequel which showed a young Omar however I haven't seen the whole thing.

From the outset of the show Omar had a set of self-imposed rules that he followed, that is a choice, Mike was on the run and needed cash, plain and simple.

Main Character: Wallace
But them side characters(security guard, delivery lady, Avon Ex-girl etc.) help setup the story lines too

 same here. The only nigga that I kind of forget he was on the Wire is Idris Elba. I don't known if its because he got bodied on the show or the fact that he picks solid roles but watching him on Luther I forgot he was even Stringer Bell. Might have to do with his accent too. But that's it. I seen Kima on some shit the other day.

Are you talking about the chic Avon tried to setup with Marlo or Avon's girl that got bodied in the 1st season? I must've missed it but anyone know why they bodied her?

by "avon's ex-girl" i believe they are referring to diedre kresson, whose murder took place prior to the events depicted in the show.

wee-bey did her because she had become jealous and threatened to write a letter exposing avon's various illegal activities.

Omar then Prop Joe.

Omar was the only one of the main characters that lived by a definitive code - never rob/hurt civiliains.

Kima (Sonja Sohn) is playing a detective on Dana Delaney's new show "Body of Proof" on ABC.

It got picked up for next season.

I just saw the guy who plays Omar (Michael Williams) playing a cop in a movie called "Gone Baby Gone" with Morgan Freeman, Casey Affleck and Ed Harris.

The dude who played Daniels (Lance Reddick) is on "Fringe", which was also picked up for next season.

"Tap, tap, tap!"

De'Angelo went into a trance when he recounted that story, it haunted him.

Wallace.... cause two of his friends had to do it, and they made dude man up and stand up straight before they shot him. ...and Wallace wasn't made for the game.

The other one though, I can't remember the guy's name, but he was a fat corner dealer guy from Marlo's crew... and somehow he fucked up and some of Marlo's dudes came and made him hop in the back of the truck, and they drove him off... we didn't see him get killed, but we knew, and he knew what was happening, and the look on his face when they drove off was a combination of :smh:,, :( and
I felt sorry for him, but I was also laughing at his dumb ass

Gotta be Wallace - not because of Wallace but because of the dialogue and how Wallace was crying and wetting his pants and Bodie was like "you brought this on yourself. Look at you, you wettin' yourself like you a little boy, take it like a muthafuckin man!"

And then when Bodie and Poot reflected on it in Season 4 where Bodie was like "...and we had to do Wallace!"

Bodie - I shake my head :smh: everytime I watch that shootout scene like "Nah man..." and I watch that shit every time hoping he turn around and see that O-Dog nigga coming out the shadows, man. That shit was fucked.

Then Prop Joe - it was the way he came with the last proposition, he was like "proposition for you then...I'll just stay out your way...you'll never hear from me again..."

plus Prop Joe had some quotables "if it wasn't for Sergei, you and your cousin would be some cadaverous muthafuckas..." Nigga WHAT?!? That line was cold as hell!!!

And the delivery lady, because she smiled at Chris right before he shot her, that was the most fucked up one.

That was Little Kevin, he fucked up by NOT telling Lex himself that his "girl" wanted to see him (it was a set-up for Chris and Snoop) he instead told Randy (the kid who sold candy) to tell him and Randy ended up telling the police.

Marlo had Chris and Snoop take care of him because he didn't follow instructions, Bodie however remained pissed @ Marlo because he thought that he had him killed "because he could".

yup. ol' bullshittin' ass d'angelo. trying to impress bodie.

david simon originally had those 2 competing against one another, and kept that scene to show how d'angelo was trying to impress the others with his fictional criminal resume.

Randy wouldn't have even known (and shouldn't have) if Little Kevin wasn't blabbing his fat mouth about it. He played it exactly how a snake is supposed to until that.

Yup, that he already had two "bodies", not one.

It haunted him because Bey used him to draw the chick out into answering the door.

little kevin is 1 of the characters that the writers chose not to develop.

most viewers won't remember this, but little kevin is 1 of the barksdale crew that beat a murder charge in court (prior to d'angelo's), which is why mcnulty had such a hard on for them in the first place.

Ahh good shit. I always remember the scene with Buck and McNulty in the apartment trying to figure out what happen but I never understood why Weebey murked her. I must've missed that on the show.
