gimme the late pass, i just finished watching the entire series in one week.
i meant to watch it 5 times a week for 9 weeks...but that shit was addictive like digital crack.
these are the deaths that affected me the most.
#5 Proposition Joe
Joe was a business man first and foremost, a gentleman rogue, an old school playa. he was smart, efficient, and understood the consequences of rash behavior. it was very disappointing to see him go, cause with him went any hope for sensibility in that world.
#4 Butchie
cot damn...old cats in the game were just as vulnerable as the corner boys. Butchie was a source of wisdom for anyone who needed it...hurt to see that guy go out like that.
#3 Omar Little
hey man, Omar got out of the game just in time...only to be forced back in. the AMAZING thing about his death was that he was never a threat to children, yet they were the first to always run from him. it ended up being a child who Omar needed to fear the most. Omar was a bandit, a western desperado...dude even wore a duster and carried an old school winchester shotgun. so though his death was TOTALLY expected, it was disappointing none the less.
#2 DeAngelo Barkesdale
dude was never cut out for the evils of the game. he was too gentle a soul for all that backstabbing. all he wanted was to retire and be left alone, as he felt he had no choice but to be a part of the family business. it's crazy how his mother groomed him for it, told him to embrace it, then he died at the hands of someone who he was taking the rap for.
#1 Wallace
c'mon man...Wallace took care of school kids...making sure they got breakfast, juice boxes, a safe place to sleep at night...and how did he get repaid? one to the chest, one to the head, and one to the face.what happened to his FRIENDS who killed him? one got killed himself, the other ended up selling sneaks at Foot Locker.
that might've been the best tv series i've witnessed. it ceased to be a drug story, cop drama, or crime tale, and simply became a community story intertwining the lives of the people of that city during that time. who you got?
Nah bruh, Mike wasn't gay, remember he was bringing women to the apartment that he had with his little bro and Duquan and tapping them.
He had a partner in crime, that's all.
you want it to be one way, but its the other way.
Mike became the new Omar, fruit booty and all.
that wasn't just a platonic relationship, man. look at his stick up accomplice, and see if it doesnt fit Omar's bf pattern.
Every time one of these Wire threads pop up...it makes me want to kidnap Davis Simon's mom,his kids, his dog...
And whatever else it would take to make him do a reunion movie...
I never found a series that I cared about the people more, especially the kids from season 4.
But to the question...Wallace without a doubt.
I dont know about affected me (its just a tv show) but Stringer Bell was cold because that was his man who called it in. Also America is built on dirty biz going legit, but it just seems his karma caught up to his ambition and its a totally different game in those board rooms

Ahh man no need to do a reunion. They closed everything up PERFECTLY. Every storyline got a ending. Plus with String and Omar dead, Avon and Chris locked up, Snoop dead, Bodie dead....it wouldn't even be a good flick. I'm for setting up some new characters though.
Man what? You wildin'. They just stick up kids. Mike was just a stick up nigga. That's it. I don't know how you saw all the rest of that shit.

man i did NOT WANT to see that...i was DISAPPOINTED when i DID see it.
the whole point of the final episode of the wire was to say that the players change, but the game stays the same.
Carver became Bunny and Daniels. Fat Face Rick and Slim Charles took over where Prop Joe left off. DuQuan became Bubbles, and Mike became Omar.
i dont like it either, but it is what it is.
did he have on a trench coat and whistle farmer in the dell too? no. you cant just attach the homo label on the boy like that.
I can't argue that...and yeah,same show with new folks,interspersed with the old.
What other show ever did that...like the Wire.New lead characters every season, blended with the old...

What bothered me the most was how they did the kid with the breads, him and his foster mother with the fire. And to make it worse the cops reaction when they were in the hospital and he says"what we gonna do now...".
That was the most fucked up part of the show...felt sorry for that kid.He really didn't tell.
You're doing a lot of assuming between the time he said goodbye to his brother and Dookie to when we see him robbing ol' boy at the Rim shop.
Little Kevin's was the funniest. It took 2, 3 cats to get him in the car.
He deserved it the most though. Stupid mofo ain't have to tell Randy shit.
Plus, he got Lex killed and that supposed to be part of his crew
again, i'm not assuming anything, i'm only accepting what was presented in that final scene.
Mike says exactly what Omar says, just no with the western bandit dialect. Mike carries a fucking old school shotty, just like Omar, which you've never seen before by him. Mike has an accomplice who acts subservient to him, just like Brandon, Dante and Renaldo were to Omar, and even favors them.
Mike shoots Vinson in the leg ala Omar.
it's unpalatable, it's not likable, but again, if all those other characteristics were dead on, why not the weird shit too?
Yea but those aren't characteristics of just Omar.
man, i dont like it either, and i'm not the one who wrote that show.
all i can do is understand what was presented.
everyone agrees that Mike becomes Omar, but NOBODY liked the fact that Omar was a RAGING "love them tender" homo.
Mike got raped...was fearful of ALL MEN...accused Cutty of being gay, and his accomplice looked like one of Omar's BOYFRIENDS.
that WAS NOT at ALL accidental.
i do not WANT Mike to be gay, i'm not attributing shit from my own understanding, i'm just UNDERSTANDING what the writers were saying.
Yea Randy didn't die. In the last season they showed him in the foster home shitting on Bunk who fucked him over from jump. They made him a monster.
Why the fuck are you in this thread bitch?
It wasn't Bunk that fucked Randy over it was Sgt Herc that botched up the investigation for Bunk. Sgt Herc was suppose to hand the case over to Bunk as soon as he had info (Randy) to Lex's murder.
Cheese is the only death I felt good about.
And Bodie gettin all pissed over a dude that probably wouldnt've thought twice about givin him up![]()
