Where Are All The CAC & Coon Critics Of Kanye West When He's Doing Positive Shit? :dunno:

Kanye West's Charity Work

Charity Biography: Multiple Grammy Award-winning producer/artist Kanye West has already established himself as one of the premier artists in the recording industry, but put away the microphone, bling and neon, and you’ll find a crusader against poverty, hunger and poor education.

In 2005, West and his late mother, Dr. Donda West, co-founded the Dr. Donda West Foundation with the goal of reducing the number of kids who drop out of school. The Foundation’s first initiative, Loop Dreams, challenged at-risk students to learn how to write and produce music while simultaneously improving their academic skills.

“During my high school years, it’s the music that I really felt saved me,” said West, “It kept me out of the streets, it kept me from getting into trouble, it gave me something to do when I got kicked off the basketball team. You just get lost in the music. That’s what I did.”

Through donations, concert proceeds, and his foundation, West has been a vocal and outspoken supporter of broader education issues, and of organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, Human Rights Watch and Oxfam America.

West contributed to a CD compilation benefiting victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Kanye created a lunchbox for an auction benefiting The Lunchbox Fund and the Food Bank For New York City.

Kanye West has supported the following charities:

* Doctors Without Borders
* Dr. Donda West Foundation
* Food Bank For New York City
* Habitat For Humanity
* Human Rights Watch
* LIFEbeat
* Live 8
* Live Earth
* MusiCares
* Oxfam
* Red Cross
* The Art of Elysium
* The Lunchbox Fund

Now... I wonder how many of the CAC's calling Kanye a nigger or coons calling him a disgrace for showing out at some bullshit dog 'n pony shows have done a fraction of the charity work or positive social work that he's done? :hmm:

WTF??? What does any of that have to do with Kanye's specific buffoonery on various awards stages??? Stick to the subject. Stop doing backflips trying to defend (or save) the indefensible. Let a fool be a fool.

c'mon son u know they dont give a fuck about u when u doing good, just when u have ur moments of spazzing that hoes for all races

at the end of the day Ye is just one song away from making them all forget again

what i love is how all the sudden "kanye's music sucks"

what i love is how all the sudden "kanye's music sucks"

that's what i find funny because his record and touring sales certainly don't reflect that feeling. Dude is a musical talent and when he's not opening his mouth, his business moves behind the scenes are masterful

Get a room, you two.

Say what you want, but every action has a reaction. Once again what did this girl do to Kanye. You sound like a hypocrite dude. You calling out white folks, but you aren't calling out Kanye. So really I don't understand your logic. Basiclly you are saying no one should say anything to Kanye for what he did to this girl? Kanye called MTV and Taylor Swift out. White people along with TONS of black people including the president are commenting about Kanye's actions. I'm not saying who is right and who is wrong, but you calling out one side without calling the others says you fall in the same category with the so called CACs and Kanye. So you are no different from them. Your observation to this whole scenario should be Kanye did something and he suffered consequences; therefore "it is what it is".

For one, Kanye doesn't publicize his charity work but, the dude was on national tv when he ******ized himself in front of a white chic. Had he did that to a black woman, prolly wouldn't be a big deal.

cmon now...this doesn't have SHIT to do with what he did man....he did WRONG, period.

he gets a pass for shitting all over that girls spotlight b/c he's done some "good" here and there? that doesn't make any sense - that girl is 19 years old man, she can never get that moment back...

fuck kanye.

its just so stupid like i listen to this talk radio show and one of the host was a big ye fan bragging bout how dope his shows and albums are but soon as this happens "Kanye's music sucks, its garbage who would by this crap"

i love how all the tv/radio personalities that are mad @ Ye could pronouce his name correctly when they loved him but now all the said in a mocking tone can't "kane, kwayeee" lol

If this doesn't have shit to do with what he did, why is your entire response about what he did? Show me where I said in the OP that this explains, excuses or exonerates "what he did", THEN your rant would make sense.

MY point, that you missed, is not about Kanye. My point is about the people who disregard the positive and obsess over the negative. Kanye has been responsible for far greater good than a few outbursts at superficial events and broadcasts. No one has ever been profoundly damaged by any of Kanye's tirades. But many people have been greatly helped by Kanye's social work, donations and charities.

To say broadly say 'fuck Kanye' for showing out at a few trumped up superficial celebrity bashes in total ignorance or disregard of the real work he puts in on substantive issues is asinine and pure sour grapes, in my opinion.

Funny how CAC's are capable of separating parsing character from character flaws when it comes to CAC figures like Christian Bale. Bale beat his mother and wife, went nuclear on set with a stage hand and still came out smelling like a rose at the Batman premiere. No boycotts. No mass racist slur campaign against him. No Christian Bale sucks t-shirts. No being called a jack ass by the President of the United States. And he's still highly regarded for his craft, even by those who dislike his antics.

This is not about defending Kanye's antics. It's about exposing the clear hypocrisy, double-standard and good old fashion hatin' that has become par for the course these days... when it comes to Black public figures. Check Serena Williams being lambasted for doing once, what John McEnroe did for decades. His rants were so legendary, 'til this day he feigns them as his commercial gimmick. Nevermind his wife alleged battery against him. His temper is still his selling point. The hypocrisy knows no bounds. That is my point.

Oh, and another thing... When GLAAD got at Eminem for, what was perceived as Eminem making a homophobic slight at Moby, by calling him a girl a joking about attacking him during an acceptance speech MTV didn't say shit. And there was NO backlash, period. Everyone was basically like 'lighten up, it was joke!' NOW, Kanye got people running naround talking about MTV Award show decorum?! lol... GTFOHWTBS :hmm:

Kanye called MTV and Taylor Swift out.

And Beyonce too. She didn't ask to be involved in his ignorance.

White people along with TONS of black people including the president are commenting about Kanye's actions. I'm not saying who is right and who is wrong, ...

Why can't you say who's right or wrong?? There's only one side to this silly issue. Don't be afraid to speak the obvious.

Yeah, about as funny as cats justifying double standards and hypocrisy.

Which is exactly what you are perpetuating with this thread. :smh:

Why don't you set an example and be righteous and fair from now on, starting with this situation??

Thought so. :rolleyes:

It really didnt what color the person he did it to was, it was ignorant and disrespectful. As bad as publicity is for rappers already, he just gave the CAC's more ammo. Anything he does good will be overshadowed by this incident, and makes it harder for any black rapper to portray a positive image.

Fam, Moby is a grown ass man, that's the difference. Why are you trying so hard t defend him?And is every black person who criticized him a COON? If so does that make President Obama a coon?

For the last 2 months I've decided not to call people out for their wrongs when I have done wrong myself. My thing now is actions and reactions.

- u know that answer ain't coming...

the bottom line is that It doesn't matter if Kanye gave 100% of his earnings to homeless and sick children - what he did was some dumbass, inhumane, sub-human, attention whoring, ignorant bullshit. period.

kanye is for causes and what not but dog, even if mahatma ghandi came in there with a bottle of henn and a sexy lil chickadee by his side....then walked up to the stage and snatched a mic out of a little white girls arms after winning her award she was so thrilled to get, then downing her by saying the other nom was better?

yea u pretty much deserve all the backlash u can get.

im all for kanye, love his music like nobody's business. but this had to be one the stupidest things someone has ever done to their career

Where are the e-militants when niggas fuck up? E-militants love to avoid the issue and blame other people. Kanye fucked up plain and simple. The President even called his ass out.

It's not about calling anyone out. It's about simply stating an obvious fact. Some issues don't have two sides. By remaining neutral you give equal power to both sides. In other words, it can be assumed that you don't think Kanye did anything out of line.

Using that "N" bomb to disrespect folks WILL make one unpopular here on BGOL.

Society and the media expect entertainers and such to be role models; so they wont necessarily tag along everytime they do some good or positive. Its whats expected. If they did that we would have be beaten to death with things Bill Gates does, U2 does, MJ did, Oprah does.. the list goes on. Helping someone is a natural expectation that most people dont/wont blow a trumpet for everytime. Now when someone acts out of a line and unexpected, like Ye did.. that will make news.. because it was UNEXPECTED. Kanye's actions overall are a huge hypocrisy.. one week he is jumping out of a car cussing out a paparazzi for following him and giving him attention like he didnt want it.. another week he is jumpiing on stage attention whoring..

That's gotta be the most hyperbolic analysis I've heard yet. Not to mention, you're proving my point. One rapper behaving rudely at an award show should not have that great of an impact on all rappers' credibility, save for in the minds or prejudice people who think that small. In which case it is the small minds of the prejudice that is the problem, more so than the misbehavior of said rapper at an award show. Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus didn't make it bad for Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson & Kerry Underwood. On Blacks make things bad for other Blacks, in the small minds of CAC's and coons.
Fam, Moby is a grown ass man, that's the difference. Why are you trying so hard t defend him?And is every black person who criticized him a COON? If so does that make President Obama a coon?
Taylor Swift is a grown ass woman, b. She'll be 20 in a couple months... Any one of us could legally beat.

And if you read my commentary you would see that I've already stated clearly I'm not defending Kanye's antics and outbursts. My focus was not even Kanye at all, but the people who actively cheery pick for negativity. If you do not fit that description, why are you defending it.

Lastly, I never said that simply criticizing Kanye makes a Black man a coon. You extrapolated that on your own. I'm referring specifically to a type of person I've observed. You should perhaps ask what my qualification was for using the term, before assuming.

And, no, Obama calling Kanye a jackass does not make him a coon. But it does make him a fool for trusting that CAC reporter to not throw him under the bus for a sensationalized headline... Of the record or not, Obama should have learned from previous distractions a) stay focused and do not comment on anything counter to your agenda & b) never trust a CAC reporter asking a deceptively innocuous question.
