I hate this comparison because it's not nearly as valid as people think or claim.
Obama is backed by a fractured party that had a large number that would openly work against his agenda and dealt with unified opposition, two things Bush never dealt with. It's far easier to push your agenda when your opposition is weak and your party united.
I was concerned about his silence on Wisconsin but Howard Fineman addressed it on Lawrence O'Donnell's show last night and illuminated the political movements behind that silence. With public opinion turned solidly against Gov. Walker and his union busting, Pres. Obama is letting it play out. Republicans are killing themselves by overreaching so badly.
