nobodys repping the 50s? no bebop and big band jazz era??
no early "race" music that laid the foundation for all this stuff??

Well, actually Blues+Gospel= "race music" and subsequently R&B. But I take your point. Tho the OP didn't include Jazz (Bebop - 50s) or Big Band (40s) in his statements.

But one thing for sure, I forgot to mention DooWop, some of the most beautiful voices ever recorded.
