it is important to you. you will have an emotional response to it's loss.
same as with some "material" things. if someone jacked you for your car your going to have an emotional response to it, not just because of the act, but because someone violated what was yours.....
not even going to the "extreme" of something being violently taken away from you.... if you walked out to your car tomorrow morning and someone slashed your tires and smashed out your windows, your going to have an emotional response to it, just for the simple fact it's "yours" and because your personal possession, is damage and will become a hinderance to you, even if it's for but an hour. there's no way your going to tell me your going to smile say that's okay, and skip to work.

About 10 years ago, I was managing a project. One of my team members (male) was local, and another (female) in CA, (I'm in KC). The male was married, but the marriage was rocky. He was driven, smart, low key, creative but pragmatic, a no excuses, bottom line kind of guy. Great at his job.
She was single, what you might call a feminist, fiery, smart, dedicated, very opinionated, compassionate but despised weakness, especially in men. Great at her job.
Everyone see where I'm going with this? lol
Anyway, this was an eight month project, and she basically lived in this "cow town" as she called it. These two got along like cats and dogs, I mean if they could've gotten away with it, they would've had each other killed, but the project was like butta baby! They worked so well together, it was amazing, but couldn't stand each other.
Anyway part II, (there is much more backstory to this, but before I get Colin and Condoleeza up in this bitch) he ended up splitting with his wife, she ended up moving to this "cow town", they are married, have three kids and by appearances at least are happy.
At one point during our project, I told them they needed to get a room a settle their differences once and for all.
Apparently they did.
