A person's tone of skin can make someone more or less pretty. It can also do absolutely nothing at all to change your perception of that person's beauty. And that's all personal preference and doesn't always need to be turned into a self hate or other political issue.

i.e. - Someone who knows they like darker women is going to find darker skin a compliment of that person's beauty and may find them more appealing than someone who lacks that particular tone.
