What the IRS has in store for January 2011

damn..................Bye Bye to the family business!

Everything in the video might come to past, but, did you notice how heavy the video was on "conclusions" but very little on supportive facts ??? Did you also notice that there was very little, if any, analysis of those thin facts to hypotheticals to demonstrate how the "bad affects" will result ???

If the video gets ones particular message over, or instills ones particular fear in the rest of the masses, right on Brother !

Personally, I am always suspect when I read, hear or view something that is rife with conclusions but virtually absent of facts or reasoning to support those conclusions. Even if the conclusions in the piece support my world view, I am still very suspect because I realize the particular conclusions themselves are meaningless when a third-grader can bring down the house of cards with the simple question: why?

Well stated.

Point taken but lets look at the facts:

  • 1099’s for transactions over $600
  • Merchant banks & Paypal reports directly to the IRS.
  • 16,500 new IRS Agents.

The resources used to comply with the 1099 requirement has to be taken away from doing something productive to satisfying a govt regulation. Larger companies (the Too Big To Fails) can absorb these expenses but small business will be negatively affected. I was reading an article that said 98% of US companies have fewer than 100 employeess, How many of these companies can afford an additional “compliance” person.

16,500 IRS Agents: Simply put, the number of taxpayers has not changed but there is a massive increase in agents. It ‘appears’ their business is about to pick up. Surely, they're not gonna just level the workload

Something else I just thought of, the healthcare waivers! Who was it to receive waivers, McDonalds, Aetna, Cigna and even some local unions. In other words, everyone, but the small businessman. This legislation is not designed to allow small business to compete with larger competitors. Unintended consequences, I suppose!
