My first job was at the outlet in Houston. Man we would sell customers all the time on "value". "Compared to the store in the mall..." 
That shit worked, I made plenty of $$$ off that line. 
I took my $ and shopped at the "real" store. Dillards is on point it too, $20 Polos, $15 RL Polo shorts/pants this weekend.

Premium outlets are pretty cool for my shoe needs. For everything else, I go to a regular retailer.

And the longer stuff stays at Nike Outlets, the cheaper it gets.
Like Air Max 2010's they'll try the $119.99 bullshit, but they eventually go down to $99, $89.... as they don't sell.
Then they have 20% off sales, friends and family sales, hash wall sales.
They did. I see it when I go to a regular Gymboree for my son and an outlet Gymboree. The outlet shirts are of a thinner cheaper quality cotton than at regular store. You can feel the difference.
Tangers OUT in Riverhead used to be my SPOT for Timberlands... for YEARS!!!...
The Timberland store was one reason I use to go to the outlets, until I grew the fuck up and stopped wearing those heavy ass ugly boots

We got a Brooks Brothers outlet here. If you say the prices there are the same as the retail store, you need your eyes checked.

Yup. Get a store credit card and rack up during the sales. Pay that shit off in a few months and be ready for the next sale. Ill go to the Nike and Puma outlet to see what they have. But I leave empty handed more often than not.
$70 at Dillard's. Especially if it's going to cost me $30 in gas to get to fucking Tanger Outlet.
I don't care about no damn deals or saving. If I want something... I will buy it, if I can afford it. Tons of rich Cacs shop at outlets though.
They recently came back as classics, but I don't see myself as a 38 year old man still rocking Timbs.

i talk to lots of people that would rather pay a little less but knowing or not caring that their item was irregular or made with inferior materials.
if i go to a benz dealer to buy a benz, i wouldn't want to buy a benz that uses cheap knockoff parts from china just to save a couple percent of the original price.
that's how i look at it but a lot of people don't care much about quality, versus saving a couple dollars.
i always refer back to this example where a friend of mine always bought the cheap $4.99 windshield wipers and he called me stupid for buying $19.99 wipers. he would have to buy those same wipers every 3 ,months while my 20 dollar wipers lasted 5 years or longer.

they're almost like computers nowadays. after 2 - 3 yrs, most mofos swapping-out & trading them in because they're "old," and "wore out," with under 70K miles.
I go to the 400 Premium outlet every so many months for the Banana Republic, Nike, Johnston & Murphy and Children's Place stores.
Nike store always has something I can get my kid as well as apparel.
Johnson & Murphy has the exact same shoes that are in the stores the majority of the time I go but the prices aren't discounted enough to make a trip out there just for that store.
Children's Place is cheap no matter if you're at a mall, online or at their outlet.
I've had a bunch of luck with the Banana Republic store but I never knew what those three diamonds were on the tag.
I don't recall buying anything with a tag that had them on there but I've got a bunch of high quality pants from there for the low.
Not to mention they send me coupons weekly that I can use on top of whatever sale they're having.

Shit the Nike outlet in Jackson NJ next to Great Adventure has GREAT deals. Especially if your shopping for sneakers for your kids knowing how hard they can be on sneakers. I don't give a fuck what that article says!!
these are literally the only three stores i shop at in the outlet malls. and i know what i am looking at and they are not lower grade or knockoffs.
i clean the fuck up all three. if you need running shoes you can't beat the air pegasus prices at the nike outlet. i only wear gym shoes to work out. i run in them for a few months and give them to my girl's lil cousin's. the sole is worn down but the upper looks new. they are thrilled. and just a couple of weeks ago i got a gang of work out pants that were listed at 60 bux for 20 bux. yes they are real.
and i only paid 50 to 80 bucks for pegaus when they retail at 100 to 120.
kenneth cole button downs, shoes and jeans go for half of what they cost at macy's. and the cole hann boots i buy are half off what they are at macy's.
i also got a full set of travel suitcases from kenneth cole with a lifetime warranty from the k cole outlet. it was almost 70% off. if they are ever damaged i take them back to the store and they either ship them off to be fixed or just give me a new set.
that article can help people not in the know. but all outlet stores are not equal.

Every six months I go to the Converse in San Francisco and buy a pair of high top Chuck Taylors for work. It costs about $100 including taxes and extra laces.
My friend told me I was paying "tourist prices" and showed me the pair he got at the outlet for $40. They were low tops, had several glue bubbles in the seams and crooked stitching. That pair wouldn't have last me more than a month and probably gave me serious callouses. Plus the low tops would means bruises all over my ankles.
Beyond the price tags you really have to check the quality of your garments no matter where you get them.
i cant speak to anywhere but nike, cole hann and kenneth cole. they are real and not cheap quality.
and technically nike owns cole hann now.
