Ah, good to be in the new comics hangout! Since this place is relatively new, and some of this might not be forum appropriate- I'll get this all out in one place; (rather than making multiple threads)
Is this forum going to be a place simply to share downloads, or more than that?
Here is what I mean-
- would anyone be opposed to me sharing japanese artbooks? ( anime series- or videogame illustration/design?) There have been some shared on the board in the past, and while they are not really comics, I think comic fans can appreciate the art (if you like that style). If there is no interest, that's fine too.
-anyone read webcomics? I don't read much, but am always looking for something new and interesting. I know the forum is called comic BOOK hangout, but that is leaving a large and interesting segment of the "comics world" out of the discussion.
- any artists/illustrators or writers on the board? I would be interested in discussing storytelling techniques /story structure with others honing their craft
-Do you read comics for the story or the art? I know most people will answer "both", but for me personally, good art can save a poorly written book- while I have a hard time staying involved in a book that has shitty art, even if it's well-written.
Finally, contrary to what all the above may imply, I am NOT a nerd
. I just don't want to post this or that and get the
face for doing so..
