It's not unrealistic to imagine a scenario where Russia and the United States went head to head, flexing their nuclear power, but how likely is that scenario to happen in the future? In today's educational animated video we are looking at the potential for an all out war between Russia and the USA. Let's take a look at cold war 2.0 between USA vs Russia!

Not likely to happen. Not at a full scale nuclear war. That is because the collateral damage would be too great. Both countries has the ability to have successful strikes, mean a nuclear warhead would land successfully. And that would be catastrophic even if the country wins.

For example, say the US were to win a nuclear war against Russian. But Russia still was able to land strikes in New York City, LA, Chicago, and Boston. That means those cities are forever gone. Ain't no cleaning up the rumble and rebuilding because the areas would be radioactive for decades. So yeah, the US wins, but at what cost.

Unless one side figures (or mis-figures) that it can essentially preempt response, from the other.

That, my friend, IS a legitimate threat. But moreso from a third party. Like if China somehow convinces Russia or the US that a nuclear strike from one another is eminent and either one must take action. A war could be influenced by them. And if US and Russia were to go full scale nuclear, even the winner (if you would call them that) would be extremely weakened. That would open the door for China to be the new world leader.

This is why most people don't understand why there are so many sanctions involved with Nuclear arms. Some leaders are too fucking crazy to be in charge of the red button. If there are people who are willing to strap a bomb on their chest and run into a crowd or fly a plane full of people into a building, then setting off a bomb that can wipe out an entire city would be their wet dream.
