.....now its wait 'til next year. Rich Porcello pitched well for the first 5+ innings, before his departure. However, he departed with the Tigers ahead, 3-2. Porcello also struck out eight batters.
The Tigers really have nobody to blame, but themselves. They blew many opportunities to advance runners in scoring positions. In fact they had the bases loaded in the top of the 12th, no outs, but failed to score. While they didn't play like a team in a slump, the hitting was not always 'timely'..or as needed. They stranded 12-runners!!!!
So now, it's wait until next season. The Tigers are a very good team, and will probably contend next year.
As for the Twins? It may be a 'hollow' win, because the Yankees are well rested, and eager to add to their season winning tally(7-0) against the Twinkies. Sorry,no rest for the weary. C.C.'s waiting for them. Post-season starts tomorrow!
