No belt!

You can't tell he knew what he was doing.

i never use a belt. you will develop a stronger core without one. and most dudes i see using belts need their ass beat for the amount of weight that they are lifting with a belt.

if they lifted that amount without the belt they would get a stronger core and be able to lift more without the belt.

I rarely use a belt too. Only on occasion when going really heavy on squats or dead lifts.

I always used a belt.
Always.

From what I was taught it promotes proper posture when doing various exercises.

Now I was a bit overboard with everything, but Sideshow has it right.

This dumbass here obviously had heavy weight. Heavier than what he should have been doing and no belt.

C'mon. That's a recipe for a cane at 50.

There you go!!!

Who counts the bar these days? :dunno:

what-the-fuck-cat.jpg

Yes, let's just ignore the whole thing about the bar weighing 45 pounds. Let's just ignore that.

And while we're at it. Let's just ignore the plates that you put on. Put 4 45 pound plates on and just don't count them. Then just tell yourself that you're only benching 10 pounds. Try it.

yea, if you go to curves or ballys fitness.
but in a real gym, that would be a 45lb bar
.

Bally's fitness uses the Olympic bars...Joke failed.

No, it's a recipe for a bad lower back. Anyone with common fitness knowledge knows this.

I didn't find the video funny at all...I've seen people at the gym many times about to hurt themselves major and everybody just stand around and watch.

you dont need a belt when you use proper technique. a belt does little to improve performance or protect your spine.

the problem is, MOST lifters use shitty technique and thus need a belt.

 You probably built like this

I'm 230 and 6'2. I've gone down from 260lbs in March '09. I'll keep doing what works for me. Because either way, I am lifting the weight and have a regimen. Even though it's more weight then I like to acknowledge, it mentally prepares me to go hard. Something like saying to myself "light as a feather...". Or "that's not 250....it's 200!"

:smh:

Yeah shitty technique right?

Perfect Squats but I guess to you it's a shitty technique.

bottom line is that belts are dumb.
given the possibility where one may be in a dangerous or life-saving situation where one might need to do something in a squat or deadlift lift like manner, what are you going to do, put on your belt?
train for real life situations, not for handicaps based on crutches.

p.s...gloves are dumb too.

but but but ronnie coleman uses belts and gloves, well you're not ronnie nor competing as a pro bodybuilder.

Hell i about passed out in my gym bout twice aha.. My dumbass was doin squats with 315 then immediately went to another exercize. I started super saturating myself with water before lifting and no more dizzy feeling.

Those are some broad sweeping statements nubian. I wouldn't say they're dumb. I don't really use a belt and would advise folks to try and use one as little as possible, but I wouldn't say they're dumb(or that the idea is dumb) for doing so if that's their PREFERENCE.

I like to use gloves. Just a PREFERENCE.

Be careful man. I think we've all been "there". Heavy dead lifts and squats are some incredibly taxing movements. Listen to your body and get the appropriate rest in between your sets.

That shit must have took a lot out of him!!

Dude started to faint after over doing it on the weight lifting, then fucked up his grill :smh:

He's going to be all right.

his friend laughed..so I guess it's ok for me to laugh too

6 x 45 plus the bar @ 25 = 295

Too much weight for a guy who shows no muscle or signs he's in shape. He passed out. :smh:

yup

all that blood rushed str8 to the brain... and then lights out!
