Washington Post: Ben Carson - Moving our focus from equality to equity won’t defeat racism. It’s another kind of racism

funny y'all never say that when the Jews got in Germany's ass and made them pay reparations for damn near generations now. Where's the cry of reverse racism and unfairness?

I guess you had big problems when black tax payers had to help pay for the Japanese that were locked in camps?

I guess it's racist when the US gives billions of tax payer dollars to help out first wold Israel, yet, everyone cries racism when we ask for the same.

More clown shit talking points from the coon crew.

Capitalism is capitalism, being black in America doesn't separate you from that but you'll have a stronger argument if blacks where given some benefits based on history and past treatment than symbolic gestures and emotional nonsense.

We're speaking on black people who have historically been denied opportunity and resources and usually threated inhumane

Truth is the top ruling class even if they're black is gonna do for their kind, they're not going to be any more lenient on the lower class than whites are now so when I say the word "whole" it means as a "whole" black America won't see much benefit.

If you really want to get my attention, speak on America embracing some form of socialist ideologies then I'll feel that will do more to help black folks as a whole, until then it doesn't matter. These articles reek of garbage and trash, just used to rile people up who don't think outside the box.

The goal of capitalism isn't to be fair and equal to everyone, it's literally a jungle where the strong survive and the weak die off and perish.

THIS.

The people screeching the loudest about "equality" are the ones already in position to benefit the most from the clumsy gov attempts at it. Its like the black bougie's version of trickle down theory. Unfortunately too many of us are clouded by CAC resentment to see this.

It never cease to amaze me that it's certain niggas out here who will defend anything these murderous cacs have done. They remind me of Samuel Jackson character in Django when his master got killed, hollering like a bitch in defense of what cacs have done and continue to do. Wealth gap ain't because black folks haven't tried to get ahead, it's because these cacs since slavery have put up every roadblock possible to make us not successful. There has never been a level playing field. It's no point in talking to them, they are a lost cause and should be taken out back and shot. Fuck'um!

They can remove his name from all black history month materials and agendas....

Keep the story, but change the name to a symbol or "the person currently known as" Ben Carson.....he used to be a good story of overcoming and achievements ....now he's a radical rightist and coon.....smh

That was done years at a Major Hospital in my neck of the woods several years ago. They had him in a Black History month display in the cafeteria and the Employees had him removed.

This country has never been totally capitalistic. Throughout history we have seen socialist type programs get passed to help out the citizens of the US. All the covid aid from last year and this year is the most recent example of that (add social security and Medicare to that list).

As to your second point, reparations is all about addressing a specific wrong and not about feelings and emotions.

Did anyone actually read the article? He made some good points.

Bullshit... I read the article and Carson essentially is arguing against reparations based solely on his opinion that white descendants of slave owners are not responsible for what their ancestors did. Well if that's the case by that rationale those who receive wealth accumulated by their ancestors are not entitled to that wealth because their had no role in its creation. Both assertions are ridiculous.

Uncle Ruckus, oops Ben Carson, is just the kind of "we forgive y'all" Kneegro white people love. He like Clarence Uncle Thomas are against affirmative action despite both being beneficiaries of it, and they both loathe the idea of holding those, and their heirs, responsible for the centuries of economic deprivation suffered by blacks at the hands of whites. Instead they favor recompense by way of equality being bestowed upon us by white people.. Carson's expressed belief that equality going forward will make up for the past is a pipe dream because white people will never willingly give it.

In short my feeling is if your dead daddy owed my deceased daddy money and reneged and left you all his money, I'm coming after you. :hmm:

The majority of white people did not own slaves. Descendants of slave owners makes up a small fraction of white people.

Why not??? Did you even read what Uncle Ben wrote? Probably not...
Coons, House Nigg*rs, Uncle Ruckus types, Toms and Tomasinas should be called out every time they act like the self hating Kneegros they are.
why get angry at all? Don’t you think he wants you up in arms? Haven’t you learned from the prior administrations antics? They want you perpetually enraged to tire you out. You can’t be stressed out all the time.

Why would CNBC let that guy on their airways disseminating that kind of argument?

If Ben is 70 years old and can’t think why the fuck should you waste your time teaching an old mothafucka who don’t want to learn and can’t learn anything something? There’s nothing gained from his statement.

It ain't about teaching Carson; it's about exposing him. :hmm:

majority of white people didn't kill jews either

How many black folk were running concentration camps?

how many black folk put Japanese folk in camps during WW2?

There are millions of poor white people in this country who would disagree....

And they would be wrong.....

White ppl are not indigenous to this land, however even poor whites have hollows read "hollars" that they've carved out for themselves where no black ppl better dare to enter let alone, live.....that's still a fucking privilege.

If you are a poor white male in this country, a country set up for white males to succeed in, in the information age........I have no sympathy for you

Oh please, get off that. Poor whites were never slaves. Never sold at the whim of another person. Never subject to be killed at their "owners" impulse. Never had their wives, husbands and children snatched away never to be seen again because of slavers desire for profit. Never denied an education. Never denied the right to vote. Never denied advancement because of skin color. Don't dare compare the plight of poor whites with what black people have endured. :hmm:

In your overzealousness to prove our victimhood you've made clear the differences in our perspective. You see all the horrible treatment our ancestors endured as proof of how bad we have it, and I see it as proof of our amazing resilience. In spite of all that you mentioned we're still here. We've reached heights that going by what you wrote should have never been possible. And there's so much more we're capable of achieving, regardless of any other groups.

Now that's deflection at its finest. You've been defending whites and Carson throughout this thread, which you're entitled to do. But when you found yourself losing the augment you resorted "poor whites had it bad too" as if that is comparable to what slaves and their descendants endured.
You couldn't really refute that so instead you counter my litany of wrongs done to blacks with claims of victimhood. That like trying to blame a victim for having been victimized.

Now I'll agree that black people are resilient and have overcome the near impossible given the forces of racism aligned against us. But to get back to the original focus of this thread which was Ben Carson's expressed a belief that equality going forward will make up for the past and we should go that route rather than seeking equity for the bullshit that has been done, and still is being done, to us. In other words we can get what we want if were are considered equal in the eyes of you know who.

The opposing view is equality in the present or future now does not satisfy the debt that is owed. That calls for some for of reparations and to Carson and other good Kneegros that's a no-no. I'll just end with I know you not unintelligent but you know as well as I that on the whole white people will never willingly cede power and will forever hold to belief that the most ignorant, trailer trash white man is better than the most learned successful black man on the planet. :hmm

Yeah...no. I'm simply pointing out that slavery did not economically elevate most whites and despite our past enslavement we've achieved success that was thought to be impossible.

How did it not economically elevate them when it set the groundwork for the current system of White Supremacity. Red lining, disenfranchisement, theft of land, property, current and future earning potential......etc
