Warren Sapp HATES on Strahan... Says Simoen Rice was Better.

Actual Rice fizzled his last two not three.

But lets look at first ten year averages between the two. shall we:

Rice: 12 sacks, 38 tackles, 2.5 forced fumbles
Stray: 9.5 sacks, 44 tackles, 1.8 forced fumbles

In those first 10 years Rice put together double digit sack totals 8 times versus Strays 4.

Strays first three seasons he had 13sacks. Rice had 13 as a rookie. And keep in my mind his rookie year was with a absolutely shit Zona team where he faced double teams weekly.

Look man, I don't know or care Sapps motives. The fact is Rice was a better pass rusher.
No matter how you slice it...

141.5 sacks and 5 AllPro first team appearances will always be better than 122 sacks and 2 ALL PRO first team appearances...

Strahan>Rice... :itsawrap:

I already pointed out that Rice was a beast from his rookie year, but to label Strahan as a compiler is BEYOND ludicrous!!!

And let's compare apples to apples shall we, Simeon Rice was a beast in college, to the point of being the #3 pick overall for the Cardinals, ANY top 5 pick is an automatic starter and deemed an immediate impact player and as such Rice started ALL but one game his rookie season...

Meanwhile...

Michael Strahan DID NOT PLAY football until his senior year in high school, and got better throughout his college career, even though he was a second round pick (40th overall) he DID NOT START a single game in his rookie season, but still managed to grab one sack, he did not become a starter until his second year, IF you compare first 10 years as starters the numbers are MUCH closer, Rice avg. 11.9 sacks vs. Strahan's 11.3, Strahan's 9 sacks in his final season is a good mark for ANY player, let alone one playing months before his retirement!

As far as injuries go if you play injured that's part of the game, but if you don't play period, how can you put up numbers, Strahan played in 8 & 9 games respectively in his two down years, to bounce back to 11.5 & 9 after each is a testament to the fact that he left the game on his own terms.

Oh, and in one paragraph or less, please explain how a "compiler" put up more tackles in his final season(46) than Simeon Rice did in his BEST season(44)?!?

And THAT in a nutshell is why Simeon Rice would get a slight nod as a pass rusher with better sack numbers, dude was a straight liability vs. the run, can anyone say shades of Mark Gastineau?!?

Strahan was the more consistent and better OVERALL player, Rice may have had a couple of better seasons as a pass rusher, but Strahan beats him in every other category!!!

As vandamation points out, WHY single out Strahan, as a Giant fan even I will admit that while Strahan got sacks I can only count on one hand when they came @ a time to shut down teams on that last drive to end a game, but this REALLY sounds as though Sapp is jealous of the life Strahan has now while he had to sell his entire sneaker collection!:smh:

All I see are a ton of excuses explaining away WHY Rice was the better player and nothing articulating why Strahan was better. Who gives a fuck that Stray didn't play until high school. Fucks that have to do with who was the better pass rusher?? He didn't start his rookie year because his coaching staff deemed him not good enough to. We cant penalize Rice for that. The fact remains Rice was the better and more consistent player. Period. And for the 5th time, I don't know or care why Sapp singled him out, all im saying is he is right.

Listen... Please don't get caught up in my style of posting...

Believe it or not... I respect your position...

BUT... I'm not changing mine... :smh:

Strahan was better...

I'll be honest... If it were AMAJORFUCUP who wrote the article or the one who spoke on it... I would respect the the argument way more...

At least, he would bring some valid points to the argument...

BUT... to talk that right tackle non-sense... and knowing their history... it does throw some shade as to why Sapp is going there... but... WHATEVER???

And I also agree that SImeon shouldn't penalized for being being better out the gate than Strahan...

I just look at their style of play... and for me... That's the difference....

and as far as Kevin 'The GREENE MACHINE' Greene goes...

Yeah... Kev's in a different class... Right below... Derick Thomas... and LT#56...:yes:

I think Sapp meant that Rice faced better lineman in left tackles by playing mainly the right end while Stray faced right tackles playing the left end his entire career.

We agree on Greene and Thomas though.
