I was very confused coming to America and hearing hamburger spots talking about "beef patty".

Now the Jamaican Patty is a stable in most Pizza Shops in NYC. Go figure.

But it is actually quite common for us Jamaicans to use the same name for two different things.
Pear vs Pear, is actually Avocado vs Pear.
