Remember in my initial post I stated this may be silly gossip and probably is. Interesting that Vince or Tamar has come out to deny it yet. If you ask me, when it comes to live singing, Tamar blows Beyonce out of the water. Tamar can't sing better than Toni but she has a greater range of notes than Toni. Toni was the next coming of Anita Baker...but Anita in her prime would blow Toni's ass out of the water.
She is a soprano, Toni is an alto...people always think the soprano sings better because she has higher range. Not always the case. Toni just has a richer, deeper voice. Tamar would get her ass ate by Toni in her prime.

Trust me, I get what you're saying. Everyone falls in love with the violin and never the viola (some are even asking WTF is a viola). And I love Toni's velvety, smooth voice, and the vocal trills that define the Toni Braxton sound. Even with all that, I still think Tamar has a very, very, very slight edge. It's not necessarily that Tamar has the higher range, but it's her wider range (all else equal) which affords her alil more flexibility.
All in all, if I walk into a piano bar, and either of these two are singing, I'm going to be there for awhile (as long as Tamar isn't singing songs from her album).
