Legendary Hall of Fame Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully says he will not watch another NFL game because of the player protests.

Scully made his remarks Saturday night during a speech at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California after he was asked about the demonstrations made by NFL players.

"I will never watch another NFL game again," Scully is quoted as saying.

Vin Scully.

What an incredibly humble, funny, remarkable storyteller.

“I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed,” Scully added. “I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year. Didn’t go anywhere. Didn’t do anything. But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach."

The 89-year-old Scully retired last year after almost seven decades as a broadcaster for the Dodgers.

Hundreds of NFL players have kneeled during the anthem in the past two seasons. Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the first to kneel, saying he did so to protest police brutality and racial inequality.

Those protests have evolved as President Donald Trump weighed in saying that players should be fired for disrespecting the flag.

The majority of the Houston Texans did not stand for the flag before last week's game against the Seattle Seahawks after owner Bob McNair made a comment referring to the players as "inmates."

I haven't watched a game this season due to what the league has done to Kaepernick but so many CACs have stopped watching because of the protest, I feel like I should start watching as a fuck you to the CACs.
That crossed my mind as well. But I now hate the owners. But I also hate those who willfully conflate the protest against police brutality with dislike of the military

So this so called "american treasure"

that everyone was so damn happy got to throw out the first pitch

made it sound like he was Uncle Sam himself

this never been in battle "veteran"

Vin Scully was at the Pasadena Civic Center last night for “An Evening With Vin Scully,” and for some reason someone asked him for his thoughts on the NFL’s national anthem demonstrations. His response was unsurprising.

Here’s a transcription of that video:

“I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed. And I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year—didn’t go anywhere, didn’t do anything. But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach. I will never watch another NFL game.”

It’s unclear why Scully brought up the military. NFL players have been kneeling or sitting during the national anthem to call attention to police brutality, which disproportionately affects black Americans and other people of color.

I'm so sick of these dumb asses talking about the fucking troops. On Baskin and Phelps last week, they had to explain over and over to these dumb ass cacs that it wasn't about the troops. These dumb asses keep parroting the same shit. They really don't know what the original protest was about. :smh:

So is he going to stop watching baseball... because Bruce Maxwell knelt a couple weeks ago.

notice the dodger team was damn near all cac

I can only name 2 puig and closer

Hernandez don't count

So he can protest, but NO ONE I doing a poll on how many BLACK PEOPLE have tanked the ratings (like myself).

It's easy to make folls feel powerless, when only the power base dictate the story

Just another white man, basically telling US that dead Black people have no value.
