my usage of ali is an example of his trilogy with frazier and his first career defeat. The fact that he melded social activism with his sport warped his popularity at the time but the reality was he was young, brash, arrogant and undefeated just as an athlete in his sport (sound familiar). He was a huge draw for his sport at the time and his defeat was shock.

Getting knocked out or knocked down is distinction without much of a difference since if rousey had just gotten knocked down and lost it would STILL be a shock.

As far as whether she comes back or not she has no choice...if she "retires" then her legacy in UFC is shit and her brand won't be damaged it will be dead cuz she'd be a quitter. Then she'll go the way of gina carano..after 1 big loss she disappeared..those movie deals and endorsements and appearances dried up quick.

Exactly. That 3 piece at he beginning... was the end. Looks like her nose may have broken. Either way, it was such a rapid juggle, that she had to fight thru the early onset of a concussion. Her cornerman was garbage for lying to her about her status in the fight between rounds. They must've not practiced a secondary gameplan, because nothing changed. What champion chases opponents like that. You would think it was her first fight... ever. And she wanted it with Floyd, who lives for being chased.
