As an employee of the umbrella itself and working at both Def Jam for a time and Interscope now I can tell yall this shit is NOT what the company wants...Simply because shit on this scale not like Jay-Z/Nas. Jay vs. Nas was a high profile LYRICAL battle, not a beef. When you heard either or takeover it gave you more interest, Nobody was like "IM not buying Jay album cause I like Nas and vice versa"...When you market a beef like this, its an attack on character. The average "Music buyer" as we call them are gullible. They "believe" in the artist or the image they are portraying so its important to them that that artist stay in character image...

50 Cent is a "brand name" to be honest he's gonna have a deal for the rest of his life if he wants it. He's a global assett to the company. He's a worldwide revenue source. His value to the company expands outside the music. The thing is tho, the point of business is to make as much money from as many sources as possible. And with these beefs 50 kills other "sources"....See the company doesnt want just 50 Cent. They want as many 50's as possible. So by 50 taking down the character of smaller artist, it kills the revenue source which is bad for business....

So in other words yall don't like this shit cuz it's gettin in the way of yall producin a bunch of "other 50's", but 50 such an asset yall can't make him stop?

The thing is that 50 Cent's contract is fulfilled with the release of "Before I Self Destruct" therefore if Universal wants to keep him it's best not to force him to do something that he doesn't want to do. So executives have to look at it from a business perspective and think who is the most expendable in the situation. The Man who went multi-platinum with every major release under the label, has excellent business skills, and is a worldwide brand (Victim/50) -or- the man who has gone Gold with every major release under same label but is local (Aggressor/Rick Ross). These are questions that the execs are going to ask themselves and I would side with 50 completely. 50's worst album "Curtis" sold more than Rick Ross' best "Trilla" so it's pretty obvious who is the bigger asset. Universal can make another Rick Ross but an artist like 50 Cent is very rare.

I think FJP explained it very well in his post. I for one thought it was fake once I saw the video of his mom but then I thought "Why would the label want this to go on?" Why would the label damage the reputation of one of their assets just to boost up another? That doesn't make much sense and in the end you will lose money. So I have come to the conclusion that this is indeed true and that 50 Cent is showing his strength to a bunch of bums.

I think Ross realized that his rap career isnt what he thought it was, and this is the way for him to go out with a bang. If he went Gold on all 3 albums, that means he aint making not money at all, he living off his advances and his tours and shows, so he probably is broke until he turns in all the rented jewelry and the cars. He might get some money back off the royalties off of Hustlin, and Push it to the limit tracks. But this last album is supposed to make him a profit.

Not hardly. #1 you cant "make" a 50 Cent. 50 Cents/Jay/Diddy, they make themselves, the companies just own the packaging they come in. And yes anybody can be stopped.... Problem is, you drop 50 and his brand and then...what? Look how after Curtis didnt live up to expectations, clothing got stopped, they thought 50 was done....then he turns thisis50.com into a $5 million revenue stream........So you drop 50 then let him go free? Let Sony? Fox get him and that brand? Atleast when 50 is dissing Universal artist they still get paid off him, If he's on the other side tearing down your profits its a totally different thing...
