Cops are hunting for two men they say viciously attacked a homeless man at a popular strip on a California beach.

A bystander recorded the brutal beating, which ended with one of the suspects pummeling the victim with a folding chair just off the Venice Beach boardwalk.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was expected to recover from his injuries.

“My heart was beating out of my chest,” James Karhu, who shot the shocking video, told NBC Los Angeles.


Police are still looking for two suspects who fled the scene before officers arrived.

“I was hoping by filming, we’d be able to catch this guy,” Karhu told the station.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the wild beating.

“All I heard was the main guy in white saying, ‘Get out of here. Get out of Venice Beach. You don’t belong in Venice Beach,’” Karhu recalled.

Cops urged anyone with information to call the Pacific Community Police Station at (310) 482-6334.

The two teens threw him to the ground, punched him in the face and used a stun gun on the disabled man before swiping his wallet and cellphone. Shocking surveillance footage shows the moment a disabled Louisiana man was beaten down by two teens in a brutal, unprovoked attack.

Kenneth Matherne, 26, was walking to his Houma home on Nov. 11, when he was jumped by two punks from behind.

Kenny Matherne, 26, suffered a busted lip, broken nose and two black eyes in the assault, and was also attacked with a stun gun.

Cops claim they then stole Matherne's wallet and cellphone before escaping in a Ford Explorer.

The victim suffered a busted lip, broken nose and two black eyes.

Police Chief Todd Duplantis told Fox 8 that the attack appeared to be "a crime of opportunity" and that officers worked hard to detain the suspects.
Tre Paul Britton, 19, was also cuffed for his role in the attack on Kenneth Matherne.

"They did a lot of work on this. They put a lot of boots on the ground and there was a lot of door knockings," he added, revealing a Crimestoppers tip gave them the details needed to make arrests.
Matherne says the community has been supportive and helpful since the attack, with one business giving him a $500 Walmart card.

Matherne, who has almost fully recovered from the terrifying ordeal, said he was "doing a lot better."

And he also paid tribute to the local community, who rallied together for him in his hour of need. One business owner gave him a $500 Walmart gift card, while another sent him $60 in support.

Cops are now hunting for the getaway driver.
