Position Responsibilities:

The Sr. Network Specialist will act as a subject matter expert responsible to provide tier II technical support services for complex system and network architectures in support of end to end maintenance and operation of Verizon's Video Network.

The individual selected will be the technical lead of a team that will provide 7x24x365 coverage and must be willing to participate in after hour's escalation/rotation. The position will interface with internal/external groups to provide efficient and effective troubleshooting (reactively/proactively) in a CATV environment to minimize system down time.

Do you work at verizon? I wanted to know if you liked how they operated? I had a interview for a job position for there federal networks part, but I turned it down as it wasn't somethign I wanted to do.

Good look man. I really think BGOL should have a forum for possible jobs. This board has a lot of professional brothers that can forward leads or appreciate the leads thats posted..

Been in Telecom 12 years and i must say that NOC work is what you make of it.. Its cool, this level is cool because your second level esculation.. But when your working directly with the customer or troubled issue in a 24x7 enviorment, by the end of the shift, you be ready to slice some ones throat. LOL.. But i know some cats that love it and wouldnt do anything else.

I'm getting ready to work in a telcom NOC for VOIP Support soon. I hope to move to a tier 2 position soon. I have work as a tier 2 systems admin before, but I'm moving into a cisco enviorment, so I had to take a position downgrade for my future(even thou the money and bennies are better).


So you liked your NOC work? I'm only doing 8 hour shifts at mine. I heard a lot of people do 12 hour shifts?

I thought their moving NOC's overseas, for 24 hr customer support? (cheaper labor)
