Shocked they're having a Beach week there after that shit a few years ago went down....Va Beach aint really that type of place

You can't even curse on the strip....it's bullshit and not black friendly at all. They have a ton of cops out. They've designed that shit as a family destination.

Va beach is my hometown. The oceanfront was my spot...in high school. But after awhile you just got tired of the cops fucking with you and your peoples. Nowadays I avoid it like the plague unless the wife wants to cop an oceanfront hotel room.
The Greek fest (way back) was slightly before my time (I was in Jr high, lol). But when that shit went down it was major.

from the man who was there during Black Beach weekend the year before and the year shit hit the fan the first year i went was cool everybody walking the beach having a good time no hassle by the Police, stayed for for the weekend My boys hit off a couple of Uggs but i was just off with my girl, the very next years cops everywhere you couldn't have guest in your room, cops just harassed for no reason dragged the fun down, was tense all around when night fell it got worse tension boiled like in do the right thing, stores got looted shots rang out which was my cue to leave , was i was leaving cops were in riot gear about to sweep the street.
My 1st visit was black beach was in 1994 b.i.g was performing Wu tang And busta FEELING asses right on 22nd n Atlantic( near the Wendy's) fine bitches everywhere. I moved here( 757) in 98 again banging Timbo in his blue Lambo Blackstreet zooming in their separate Porsche's people everywhere...but as the mega music producers left 757 Timbo missy Pharrell n others so did THE vibe. cops harassing, less people from out of state, waaay over priced rooms that haven't been touch since 94( when i went) but they do have new Hotels even a Hyatt

I was out there last night with my son and wife. We were on the actual boardwalk. There was a shooting at 18th street and 4 people hit with non life threatening injuries. No suspect.
I was no where near it, but the traffic situation became a nightmare for some.
Not me of course I took a very different route home.

Years ago i was out there for Greek Fest as well in the early 90s. The Oceanfront is completly different now. Me and the Ole lady took the Bike out there yesterday around 2pm. Thot juice everywhere. Still pretty tame compared to the 90s.
I went there the year before that happened. It used to be on Labor day weekend. So many gorgeous women, it wasn't even funny. The next year, 1989, the city was on some bullshit. They panicked when they saw that the event was getting "out of hand" (i.e., too many Black people), and called the National Guard...a total overreaction. Black people stopped going to the event; the city lost money, but they were just happy that there were less of "us", and they turned it into a "family" event...Va. Beach is okay, but it's not as fun as it used to be.
Black folks should say fuck virginia beach ocean front just on the HOF Bruce Smith principal alone....
