Update: Officers Caught on Video Arresting Mailman Removed from Posts, Bratton Says

I think his wife being a cop had some "influence" in Mr. Grey's change in stance. If I recall his attorney Mr. Adams demanded that they be fired, he wouldn't have done that without first going over it with Grey......

Something changed recently and I bet it was the blue shield making things hard for Mrs Grey...similar to what happened on Billions

You told them you were innocent. They said "i dont care". You told them you were at work. They said "i dont care". You told them your wife was a fellow cop. They said "i dont care". You would have lost your job and had a criminal record if not for fellow black citizens recording on your behalf. The cops said "i dont care".

Yet you still concern yourself with their jobs... A concern they didnt exhibit when they wrongfully arrested you and took away your freedom and risked your job.

You sir, are a got dam fool. And that mindset is almost as damaging as the mindset of the bigoted, hate filled, piece of shit cops who arrested you.

It's worst than Stockholm Syndrome.

Let me give y'all how this shit going to work... After the investigation they will be suspended for 30 days prob without pay.. Right now the commissionor took them out of the plainclothes detail so now they are prob back in uniform with their guns and badges taken away and are in the rubber gun squad lol (union contract)

Once the investigation is concluded they better hope the Postal inspector go easy on them.. They will go before the NYPD trail board (operates like military court) they will either take a huge hit or lose their jobs either way they are assed out

The Postal Inspector has the authority to discipline these officers? I cant see them not losing their jobs over this.

Breh you know how serious is the interruption of US Mail? That's a serious office..

Worse case the fact the officers didn't contact the postal police to secure the vehicle they violated NYPD voucher if procedure. The arrest was an unlawful detainment of a federal employee on duty.. Yeah this cops can lose their jobs

Either way if they don't lose their jobs they are fucked because now the NYPD can keep them modified duty (no badge no gun) for the rest of their careers

true but from a psychological standpoint I understand why he said it..

to really make them look like the immature savage piglets they are...

that statement shines a light on their lack of concern for him trying to support his family..

the fact that they werent in uniform when they were supposed to be and the fact they left the mail truck in such a vulnerable position has to be some kind of federal offense..

all based on nothing, its not like dude was dealing drugs or killed someone, its all because their little egos were damaged...

this ought to get real interesting..

Video and Camera phones are some of the best things to happen to and for "black" men!!!
Also he may have spoken this way to look out for his fiance on the force, worrying about some backlash she might get. I agree with you brothers it would've been real hard not to go in on these zoids.

You see how nice Black people are? He has every right to be upset. What those cac pigs did was racist, unprofessional, and bitch-made (emotional over a man telling them to "watch it" after nearly hitting and injuring him with a vehicle). Mr. Grays wishes only for discipline for the sake of these pigs' supposed children.

Fuck that. Those bitches deserve to die. Can you imagine what would have happened if he had of rightfully resisted that violation of his civil rights?

Gunshot blasts to their heads and stomachs. Their kids are better off being raised in foster homes if their minds aren't already fucked by their pussy-ass dads.

Murdered and dismembered. DEAD!
Yep

**Update**

Well this is a start....

The NYPD lieutenant who supervised the cursing plainclothes cops who arrested an on-duty postal worker in Brooklyn earlier this month has been stripped of his badge and gun, the Daily News has learned.

Lt. Luis Machado was placed on modified duty in connection with the embarrassingly volatile clash between cops and postal employee Glen Grays in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Machado and three cops were zipping along in an unmarked car on March 17 when they nearly struck Grays postal truck, officials said.

Grays shouted at the driver, who threw the car in reverse and screamed back at the mail carrier.

CUFFED MAILMAN WANTS APOLOGY FROM BRATTON

The four plainclothes cops got out of the car, slapped him in handcuffs, frisked him and carted him off to the 71st Precinct stationhouse where he was charged with resisting arrest.

Video of the arrest has gone viral and sparked an Internal Affairs Bureau investigation.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams condemned the cops involved in the arrest.
Earlier this week, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said he had “strong concerns” about the officers’ actions.

Machado and his team — Police Officers Lazo Lluka, Miguel Rodriguez and David Savella — were immediately pulled from the elite conditions unit they were assigned to, Bratton said.

“I am very interested in the charge that was made against this individual, what he was arrested for and the validity of that,” Bratton said Tuesday. “Based on what I witnessed on the various videos I've reviewed I have strong concerns about the charge against that individual."

*Grays, whose fiancee is a city cop, told the News Wednesday that he wants an apology from the officers.

He agrees that they should be disciplined, but they should not lose their jobs, he said.

“Honestly speaking, we're all human, we all make mistakes, but lately a lot of mistakes have been made by police officers,” Grays said.

BRATTON 'NOT PLEASED' WITH COPS WHO ARRESTED MAILMAN

On Wednesday Patrick Lynch, head of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, cautioned against a “rush to judgment.”

“Everyone, including the police commissioner, should withhold public comment until all the facts are in,” Lynch said.

He also put part of the blame on Grays.

“No one ever has the right to resist arrest,” Lynch continued. “Compliance is not optional.”

*its the language in blue that concerns me.......again, his attorney had a different sentiment initially....something happened to trigger this change of opinion

On-Duty Mailman (Glen Grays) Says Video of NYPD Arrest Saved Him
Mar 30, 16 by Qwest7 2 Comments

Glen Grays
*Video footage of a recent arrest made by two New York Police Department officers ended up being a big help for the postal worker who was arrested.

In an interview with “CBS This Morning,” Glen Grays credited the video with saving his life. Footage of the incident, which occurred two weeks ago, has widely circulated online in the days since.

“The only thing that I think saved me was that it was on videotape,” Grays, a 27-year-old postal worker, said.

Media sources report the incident started when Grays, who was on-duty at the time was sideswiped by an unmarked police car as he walked across President Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn to deliver a package on his route. According to Grays, he told the officers they almost hit him. From there, the plainclothes lawmen surrounded Grays and can be heard yelling “stop resisting” while cuffing him.

Grays, who insists he’s not resisting, allowed the cops to cuff him and place him in their unmarked car.

“I was extremely terrified. I was afraid if I didn’t comply, something was going to happen to me,” Grays told CBS.

“I believe they wanted him to resist,” Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who released the video, told “CBS This Morning.” “Those officers were extremely aggressive. He was smart enough not to resist. I believe because of that, he’s sitting here today telling his story.”

Gray’s encounter with the officers and the resulting video marks the latest incident where cell phone video has captured questionable encounters between police and citizens. Cell phone camera use among citizens has made a noticeable impact on the way authorities interact with the people they are sworn to protect as the cameras have proven to corroborate a witnesses’ account of what happened in many cases regarding police abuse or brutality.

On Monday, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton weighed in on the Grays incident, saying he was “not pleased” with what the video showed, adding that the participating officers were supposed to be in uniform.

Despite showing Grays arrest and his compliance, footage from the incident did not capture what happened in the police vehicle after officers pulled off from the scene with Grays.

“I was told to shut up a numerous amount of times,” stated Grays, whose wife is a police officer. “They rear ended a car and I wound up from the back seat banging my left shoulder onto the driver’s seat and banging my face onto their arm rest.”

Since the video surfaced on the Internet, many outraged viewers have labeled the arrest an abuse of power. Although the incident was troubling and Grays was issued a disorderly conduct summons, he admits he’s not out to get the officers fired.

*“I don’t want them to be jobless because they might have family, kids they need to support,” he said. “It’s sad. I thought when I put on a uniform that I’d be treated a little different, but there’s no difference. I’m just another brother with a uniform.”

At this time, the incident with Grays and the NYPD officers is currently under review.

*He has to see the problem with this statement / having sympathy for those who had no damn concern for his safety, his family his well being.....

How can a person be charged with resisting arrest if they haven't been charged with anything else? that's just one of the tools they use to go on fishing expeditions when they REALLY don't have anything and people should work hard to get stuff like removed from the books.

I know those pigs felt stupid when they saw he was clean..

if he wouldve just has a half of a nickel bag.. they wouldve blown that whole shit out proportion..

and he wouldve lost his job..

and the whole story wouldve been about a city worker on drugs while he works

if his fiance wasnt a cop.....im pretty sure he wouldnt have made that statement.
Fuck The Police!

Plainclothes always think they are above the law; they are told they are….Is getting a cush admin job a just punishment for the action? Think on both statements……I'm just saying….

We're too god damn forgiving. His mama, the black church, and Jesus probably poisoned his mind. I bet if he was shot down in the street by those pigs because he was "resisting", his mother would be on some "I forgive them" shit.

His soon to be wife is a cop and you know how they hate to see one of their go down, even if it is for inappropriate behavior...they will do everything to make his wife's career choice hell on earth. That "brotherhood" creates a corrupt mentality where bad behavior is defended...no different than the Latin Kings, MS-13, or Neo Nazis.

You must don't know NYC and NYPD politics.. Not only will they advance her career she will get cushy details and make rank just so this spotlight and bad press can get off the city and NYPD..

Why is the DOJ not involved.....Not only did they commit a federal crime by tampering with the mail delivery and left the truck unsecured but they violated the mans civil rights.

It's under the jurisdiction of the Post Master General and postal police.. They calling the shots on this one

“Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer's life if necessary.” Plummer v. State, 136 Ind. 306. This premise was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case: John Bad Elk v. U.S., 177 U.S. 529.

Gray was on OpenLine this morning WBLS in NY, Bob Slade and Bob Pickett questioned Gray about his comment not wanting the officers to lose their jobs etc, but added if they were to lose their jobs he would be fine with that decision, Gray also understands if someone haven't recorded the incident he himself would have lost his job with the postal service. Also was brought up the possibility of any legal action i.e. lawsuit for false arrest, Gray was mum on that but he didn't mentioned that he's very disturbed mentally by the incident.
