Update: "Miya Ponsetto" ARRESTED OVER CELL PHONE ATTACK. Won’t Receive Jail Time After Taking Plea Deal

not sure there’s a case. If the hotel guy tried to detain the men or restrict them in any way, then there would be a case.

All he did is what all whites do....take the whites woman’s word as fact and act on it without any merit or facts. BUT, the hotel guy didn’t do anything besides talk so I don’t think they have a case (legally). Now, he could probably lose his job if they complain to corporate and state that the hotel manager assisted a vile rouge non guest to profile and harass an innocent man and his son.
All of what you just said is why it’s a case legally.

Ben Crump does not want the latest ‘Karen’ incident to be just another viral occurrence and is
demanding that assault charges be filed against the white woman who attacked a Black teen over an iPhone.

As theGrio reported, the 14-year-old son of Grammy-winning trumpet player Keyon Harrold
was accosted by a white woman who claimed he’d stolen her iPhone at the Arlo SoHo Hotel in
New York over the weekend. At one point, she even lunged at Keyon Harrold Jr. and left him
with scratches. The acclaimed musician posted the encounter to his Instagram and it went viral.

The woman in question still has not been publicly identified.

The civil rights attorney wanted District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. to use the full powers of his office and bring about a measure of justice for the Harrold family.

“We strongly urge Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. to bring assault and battery charges against this woman to send the message that hateful, racially motivated behavior is unacceptable. This is what it will take to drive change.”

Crump also wants Arlo Hotels, which owns the Arlo SoHo Hotel, investigated for how it handled the incident. In the viral video, the manager of the hotel almost immediately demanded the 14-year-old hand over the iPhone to which his father objected. Arlo has insisted that the manager contacted the police to report the woman and extended their apologies.

Nonetheless, Crump wants their behavior scrutinized.

“We also call for a civil rights investigation into the Arlo Hotel for its implicit bias in its treatment of Keyon,” the statement read.

In an interview with TMZ on Monday, Harrold Sr. and his wife, Kat Harrold, explained they believed race played a factor.

“Her eyes were red, looked at me and said ‘He has my phone,” Harrold Sr. recounted of what happened after he and his son stepped off the elevator. The woman made a beeline for the 14-year-old as he tried to maintain his composure and explain that his son would not need to steal an iPhone.

Kat Harrold explained that her son asking why this happened to him is why a “cookie cutter apology” from the hotel will not suffice.

“And when you have to sit down with your son and say ‘Well son, it might be because you’re Black and it might be because she felt threatened and you didn’t fit into the nice hotel.’ No one should have to deal with that,” she said.

and if it comes out, she had something to do with posting that Columbian

girls picture up, trying to throw the heat off finding her ass..

should be additional charges added to her ass...

the only reason that entitled lil bitch carried on like that.. is because

she felt she was made of better stuff and KNEW nothing would happen to her...

the only reason Im like fuck dat bitch.. is because when she KNEW she was wrong,

she couldnt even have the courtesy to apologize, she just stepped off... like ahh

fuck em.... people make mistakes all the time, it happens,

but for her to literally assault them.. and not even have the humane courtesy to apologize

is disgusting..

It looked like she had on a columbia university sweatshirt couldnt really tell....

identifying her can be really easy. mufuckas need to put pressure on Uber to release her name.
if she used their services, then they will have her name and info in their database.
just pull up the driver and the list of people he picked up that day.................done.
treat Uber the same way they treating SoHo.....believe me, that name will come quickly.

No Disrespect to Ben Crump but dont we have some better speaking lawyers than him out there. I get it that he brings the media and everything but he doesn't have the gravitas to speak fluently in front of people.

treat Uber the same way they treating SoHo.....believe me, that name will come quickly.

The police could have had the booking info directly from the hotel if they wanted it. Have a feeling it is going to come out that they "declined" to press charges in the interest of "unity". :smh: :smh: :smh:

This is the first thing that I thought of on how to identify her.

and damn Ben crump gonnna cash out and have thoughts and prayers.

man that lady woulda died fucking with mines
Especially if I’m the entertainer

This is another video that’s hard not to have an immediate reaction too.

Im thinking that the woman in question is known by now but her identity isn’t public. No business (hotel or Uber) would release the identity of a customer at the request of non-law enforcement investigators.

Anyone here have a license to carry in NY or works in law enforcement/law? What would be the repercussions if a firearm was used to protect the child from that assault?

Forgiveness is truly divine. On one hand, I am truly amazed at the depth of soul our people have and the capacity for forgiveness. On the other hand, fuck an abuser’s fake apologies and the community they have to shield them. The Divine also speaks on justice and restoring balance.

she just looks old like a lot of karens but Im thinking she may actually

be much younger than she looks, and if she is a student at columbia,

she got big time protection.

they STILL dont know who she is, they working big time behind the scenes to squash this,

that ho has to be connected... strings getting pulled like a muthafucka....

this bitch defeating the internet..

Ok, BGOL training session.

You are the manager of the hotel
One guest claims another guest stole their phone.
What do you do?

You help the guest contact the authorities and not facilitate them trying to put the theft on other guests. The person who "took" her phone could be in the lobby yelling "I took your shit" and the hotel staff still shouldn't be involved; they aren't the police and nobody is in imminent danger because a damn phone is missing :smh:  . It really isn't that hard but cacs do cac things like this. Also, who is stealing iPhones in 2020? It takes all of 30 seconds to make that shit into a paperweight via iCloud so what exactly are you going to do with a stolen iPhone?
