Unless they remodel the whole damn city, there’s nothing you could do about climate change in New York.

Yesterday was the WORST I've ever seen this City since I've been back almost twenty years ago.
On top of the massive rain that was going non-stop,
A Manhole exploded outside My job by 14th St. and 3rd Ave.
The smoke got so bad, and it was getting hard to breath, that we had to evacuate the store thirty minutes after opening.
And hang out at our Warehouse local for over two hours.

This City/State just hasn't learned from Sandy.
Our Infrastructure is a disaster.
Developers have no problem building unaffordable properties.
Because of tax breaks and various "hidden" loopholes.
But they along with City/State Officials need to be called to task for not dealing with these infrastructure issues.
All entities keep acting like these weather issues are "the first time" and shit.

Every time this type of shit happens,
This SUPERMAN story keeps coming to My mind.
It's deals with the total revamp of Metropolis after Luthor gets screwed over by Brainiac.
Thousands of people die as a newer Brainiac converts Metropolis into more futuristic city.
If I recall that story correctly.

Well, you guys have a huge decision to make because this used to occur once every 10 or 20 years now it’s occurring every year. At some point in the near future, this city may not be habitable.

No more free labor to correct all these in infrastructure issues.

So many major areas of this country are falling apart , cost to repair it all is enormous.
It’ll be “free” in a couple years. And they’ll discover the will and money to do it as they discover their laborers.

That’s wild.
No it’s not. We know what’s coming and we know how to lessen the impact. The powers that be payroll’s are heavy and they wouldn’t mind making it lighter.

This is a job specifically for the federal government. How hard it is to build a highway for water? The excess water in the east should be pushed out west via an interstate hydro duct. But they’ll drag their feet and claim poor.

That’s wild.

That’s wild.

Shit is wild, we had a fuckin hurricane in California....

Pretty soon we're going to get earthquakes in Texas

I keep beating this dead horse, but Al Gore and scientist was 100% correct in the 90s on what was coming

Some of th3 subway flooding happens because people are filthy and throw garbage that clogs the irrigation system.

The MTA employs contractors that go out at night and try ro unclog the drains.
You should see the filth.

They also employ contractors that drilll hole and pump sealant into the walls/ceilings etc etc but the system is over 100 years old and the city has alot of construction onto of the subways which causes more cracks etc etc due to vibrations/drilling/weight-sinking.

Yes, I understand that but it still floods there especially over the last 10 years

It floods in small areas , Vegas since the 1990s has invested millions in water detention/reclamation. That’s why Vegas has been able to grow with massive development.

When I brought my house in the area I’m in back in 2003, I had to get flood insurance.

They got all the drainage and flood control systems in place in my area around 2010, it doesn’t flood in my area and I got to drop my flood insurance.

When it rains, the majority of the water is directed thru flood channels around the valley and pumped/stored in underground and above ground tanks.

You can see the flood channels in the map below. I live in the area between Ann/Cheyenne where you can see the completed flood channels.

Nooo

Like I said it floods in small areas.

You ever noticed Vegas flooding never makes the national news service like other metropolitan cities?

What flooding that happens here is not big news.
This wasn’t a small area. I know you guys are in the middle of a desert, but technically you guys are in a desert valley.
